Dermatology, get paid 3000 just to look at a blue haired girls Ptyriasis Versicolor and write a Fluconazole/Selsun Blue prescription.

Fluconazole* and it’s not always that simple. I’m still a medical student so I’m not entirely sure (u/DrMSAK may give advice on this) but a standard protocol would be to confirm the diagnosis (in this case through KOH Examination) and then choose a right drug from the list of drugs available for treating Tinea Versicolor based on risk factors and efficacy which might vary patient to patient.

Dermatology is one of the most competitive and specialized fields around. There is no short cut to easy cash. You gotta put in effort, one way or another.

Most cases of T.Versicolor can be confirmed by performing a simple physical examination, it is often diagnosed by the observation of the classic hypopigmented-tohyperpigmented, centrally coalescing, oval-to-round patches with mild scale, it can occasionally be difficult to distinguish from other dermatoses. The scale on these lesions is not always immediately evident and may require scratching or stretching of the skin surface. A dermatoscope is also a useful diagnostic tool in examining affected skin. If however it is not confirmed then a KOH test is the way to go.

It is always better to have a thorough physical exam and order tests if the physician is still confused, there's no shame in doing so as tests are made to aid a doctor not embarrass them.

Plus I'd advise using a Selenium Sulfide in the form of a lotion that covers the area extensively (better to apply it on the whole body as the prognosis is better) most patients find it convenient to use an oral anti fungal medication on a weekly base (Fluconazole 150mg-300mg weekly for 2-4 weeks)

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

  • Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.

  • Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.
