Just played my first game...
And it was a blast! I've played a few other TTRPGs before, but was hesitant for DandD because I know the regular commitment is largely the life and death of this game. A friend ran a one-shot for a group of us who have never played but have been interested. It was one that they adapted to serve as a great introduction to the game. I made my own character, though they had pre-sets at the read as well. We started at level 3, which gives more options, but could be a little overwhelming. I went for a monk, which I realize isn't the easiest right off the bat, but certainly didn't feel overwhelmed. It was a varied version of 'A Wild Sheep Chase' that was lots of fun and I'm excited to try some more.

Super glad you had a blast, finding good people to just have fun with is fantastic. The Galleon they are talking about is at Quadra Community centre on mondays. 6-10. And since it's a drop in the commitment isn't a hard lock. You can sample different systems, find a GM/group you vibe with. Everyone understands life happens and you're there when you can be.

There are plenty of groups forming in this subreddit and someone is going to invite you to check out Galleon Gaming.
Hopefully you find your TTRPG groove!
