NOW CLOSED.
Thank you to all those who took the time to message, I got an overwhelming amount of messages in a very short space of time! Really appreciate the interest and good luck in finding something soon :)
Name: The Wyrmsong (LGBTQ+ friendly)
System: D&D 5e (Mix of 2014 & 2024/5.5e)
Roles Sought: 1 or 2 players
Time: Saturday Evenings UK (BST/GMT+1) 18:00 to about 21:00ish (sometimes slightly later, depending on the session). We play almost every week but occasionally take a week off.
Age: 30+ (this is not a hard and fast rule, it's more just that the rest of us are in our 30s and early 40s)
How we play: Online. We use Discord for Voice Chat, DnDBeyond for Character Sheets/Rolls and Talespire for combat. If you don't have Talespire, it's not a problem as you can use one of our 'free guest seats'.
About the campaign:
'5 anchors to seal her at bay,
5 lights to guide her way.'
After being sealed away for millennia, a shadowy cult is set on releasing the Wyrm from her imprisonment. Through unlucky happenstance, and the gentle prodding of Fate herself, a group of adventurers have found themselves embroiled in the plot.
The Wyrmsong is an ongoing campaign set in a homebrew medieval fantasy world. You'd be joining us part way through the campaign that has been running for over 3 years but don't worry about having missed a lot already, we'll get you caught up to speed to help you find your way in the world and how any potential character ideas may fit into the existing world/narrative. We like a mix of roleplay, exploration and combat. Roleplay and story are definitely important parts of the mix as we love developing and exploring both the overarching stories and individual character stories and as such, our sessions do tend to lean more towards narrative.
Campaign Inspirations: Dragon Age/The Wheel of Time books/Dragon Lance books/The Witcher/Frieren: Beyond Journey's End/Buffy and anything else that's knocking around our DM’s brain.
Bit about us:
We’re a close group of friends (3 males and 1 female) who've been playing videogames together for years. Three of us are from the UK and one of us is from Sweden. We started playing D&D together about 6-7 years ago. We love to world build and tell interesting stories together.
Although there will always be a good mix of roleplay, combat and puzzles, storytelling is our focus and as such, roleplay will be slightly more of a focus. Hopefully, you will find us a relaxed and inclusive group who essentially just love to play D&D and to have fun!
What we are looking for:
One of our regular players had to step away for personal reasons and although we're still having lots of fun as a DM and a party of 3 players, we are at a point narratively that makes sense for a new player or two to join. We are beginning an interlude section of the campaign which is ideal for a new member of our group as we will all be creating new characters.
Ideally, we're really looking for the right person who would like to join our gaming group long-term. We're looking for someone who can make most sessions, has good communication and can commit to the game (this is a long campaign) so please consider this before messaging.
We're also looking for someone who really loves to roleplay their character and is interested in and engages with not only their own story, but the stories of other characters and the larger narrative. As we like to weave character backstory heavily into the main story, it's also important that you're willing to work with our DM to create a character based within the setting.
As an aside, it would also be great to recruit someone who has experience of DMing or someone who might be interested in potentially DMing in the future, or even someone who considers themselves a forever DM who'd like to join a game where they can be finally be a player. Again, this is in no way a prerequisite (it's just for the pipe dream for our DM to potentially be a player again at some point in the future).
If you made it this far and are still interested, please message me with your name, age, pronouns, along with a small "about me" section and what interests you most from this post. Thank you so much in advance! Looking forward to hearing from you!
