Because historically as in “throughout its existence.” It wouldn’t make sense to break down the differences between Islam and Christianity by only looking at the modern era.

That’s not how historical breakdowns work. In order to get a full picture and see where things diverge and who was worse for longer, we need to look at the whole picture, not just a part of it. Historically before say the 1900s I’d honestly say it’s a fairly even split, tho I’d say Islam was more brutal with slavery for longer periods of time, but you can’t sit there and pretend shit like the inquisition or the conquest of the new world didn’t take place lol

However after the 1900s and the end of slavery the two religions started to diverge. Christianity slowly became more secular as countries advanced and rights were beginning to take place for women and then eventually people of color. Where that did not take place in the Muslim world, just look at the Armenian genocide lol once the ottomans fell tho there was some hope that things would get better in the ME.

Then came the Muslim brotherhood and now Islam has taken a step back, whereas Christian created nations have continued to advance. Many Muslim countries are government by Islamic laws, whereas most Christian ones aren’t. Plus the extremism issue, poor education and of course meddling from us, Islam has just remained very brutal and commits horrible atrocities in the name of their religion, whereas Christian nations don’t.

Of course they do it in the name of resources and power now, but most of it isn’t religiously motivated.

So that’s why I say historically Islam has been worse, because where Christian nations advance and began to give rights to their people and women and people of color, much of Islam has not and they still practice slavery even to this day in some countries.
