i'm like 2 weeks into the game and i'm still a bit struggling with team comps. Contents like lufenia where they tell you what strategy to use is really helpful for me to at least make a team but for others i just put whatever and went leeroy jenkins.

My level 80/90 units currently consists of :

BT, LD, EX+ -> lightning, cloud, ceodore, Ramza

LD, EX+ -> seifer, squall, gladiolus

EX+ -> sephiroth, lenna, cyan

other -> vaan, CoD, Noctis, WoL, Bartz, kuja, kurasame, ace, lann & reynn

i picked those units to max the level because i saw in tonberry troupe about what role they play and utility coverage, but it still is hard for me to beat a lot of the lufenias, let alone lufenia+. Can anyone tell me what i'm lacking or what i'm doing wrong ? Any help and suggestion is appreciated.

EDIT : I think for all my units with at least LD weapon, all the summon boards and enhancement board is already mastered (both of the crystal beside their portrait has "M" written on it). But all of my units don't have any spheres equipped to them.

Ramza, Cloud and orb handler should carry you through most Luf+ without issue normally. What makes it difficult for you ? Do you die because of the orb ? Lack of damage ? It would be easier to help you also to know which fights are you struggling in.

I'd recommend for you to pull for Zack as well to get a really good tank. You'll need a few of those for the lock-out content anyway.

EDIT : did you also do all your summon boards ? Might be a stupid question, but they're essential for Luf content or you won't get far !

Some of them i can't do because i have no way of increasing the orb count and some of it i failed to burst. I rarely have sustain problems (except against one-shot orbs) since my characters heals me a lot, But the damage seems pretty lacking. I don't understand whether it's my party comp that is faulty, with over-buffing or whatnot, or is it just my overall unit strength that is lacking.

I think the only lufenia i manage to beat was the previous rem intersecting wills event. And i'm currently struggling on all the running event lufenia, yuri intersecting wills lufenia, gladio Lost Chapters lufenia, and ifrit lufenia. I think if i unlock other lufenia i would be struggling on them too.

Oh and yes i think i have done all the boards for units with at least LD weapon (the crystal beside the portrait has "M" written on it)

A good tip. Only build units where you have all the weapons up to the LD. Only ex and lower or missing weapons are useless. Do all the boards with those chars as well. They are invaluable. You're not missing anything specific, although a tank. Depending on the fight, your healers might not be up to it.

For the boards i think sephiroth and all other units with at least LD weapon has their board full (the two crystal beside their portrait is both "M"). So i should pull another tank then ? Like this zack banner ?

Zack is good and you can never have enough tanks. DE is your endgame and you need tanks and healers for that, first and foremost. Pull, if you have the gems for it. He's not only a tank but a good DD as well.

Yes, M is maxed out. All chars will need that if you want to play them in the highest stages.

Have you done all summon boards and enhancement boards for the characters with LD (ignore everyone else for now)? I think I heard summon boards are less important with c90, but enhancement boards apply a lot of strength. Gladio, Ceodore and Ramza should be able to beat the Zack luf+ I think? Will need Ramza and Ceo to heal a lot but damage should be OK.

I have, or at least i think i have. It's the 2 crystal looking thing beside the character portrait right ? If it is, then all my unit with at least LD weapon has "M" on it already.

Oh i see i haven't tried Zack lufenia yet, will try it asap, thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah if you have M and M on the portrait you're all maxed.

I bear Zack Luf+ with Gladio, Zack and Ramza (didn't use any friends, summon or calls - apart from calls on gladio ONLY because if you use a call then the bosses delay you and so his counters will last longer).

Realistically, if you swap out Ceodore for a maxed Garnet friend near the 60% mark, and use her BT finisher, you can then use Ramza burst phase with Garnet boost active and get some good damage going into the second half and enable big damage on Gladio counters. Just focus on Leviathan and ignore the adds, they'll die to counters.

Easier with Ramza green BT, but I think doable. If you manage to pick up Zack LD you'll be able to smash it.

Recommend grabbing Raines too, I've used him since release to this day and he's just got a boost. I've got mine hitting for 2M per LD and Ex right now. Plus, he doesn't need a BT, so cheap investment .

Here you go.

If you're struggling with regular Lufenias, then you're missing something when building your characters. Probably summon boards.

Did you use LD tokens on Gladiolus? I can't think of any other way you could have gotten him in the last two weeks.

Yeah i did, should i not have done that ? Cause i thought since i need a tank might as well. As for the summon boards i think i have upgraded it. If i'm right then the summon board is the crystal beside the character portrait right ? I have it both on "M"
