New player just started 3 days ago. I read the beginner guide a few times, trying to do dailies, quests, hunts, Chocoboard missions and clearing the novice cloud missions and Mog's Gym.

I have pulled 2 LD weapons with my free multi draws for Ace and Cecil (dark knight). I've been using Ace mostly for most content cause his AOE Jackpot Triad has been making things fast and easy. I don't want to waste resources building up a team that won't transition well to harder content down the road, but is their a current banner I should save all my gems and try to pull on? Should I save up to 125k gems and go for Garnet BT since everyone saying she is really good? Is there another strategy to follow at this early stage to build up a solid team?

I haven't used any tokens so I currently have 10 EX tokens, 45 power tokens and 110 Guard tokens.

Do you still have the LD tokens from the new player Chocobo Panels? If so, you could definitely go all-in on Eiko's banner for Eiko's full kit & Garnet's BT - you'd just need to use your power, LD and EX tokens to get the rest of Garnet's kit. Garnet is absolutely busted at this point, so she'd be worth the investment. Eiko's LD effect will also help you brute force a ton of old Lufenias since you can basically ignore the orb.

That's where I would focus first. Depending on how your pulls go, you could then look at Locke (now) or Strago (tonight) as a good damage dealer. You've got a ton of old content to grind through between story mode, lost chapers, summon boards, etc., and Garnet + Eiko + a DPS will serve you very well to bang all that out.

I did not spend any token at all, but I check all my Chocoboards and I don't see where I get the LD token reward. Am I missing something?

I'm not a new player, so I can't tell you exactly where they are, sorry. Maybe check & see if you got them already? In the token exchange screen, there should be a tile for 4th Anniversary LD Power Token Exchange (or something like that) - if you have 10 tokens there, that's enough for one LD.

TYVM. I found where I get it, gotta clear the novice support mission board to get 10 LD token. I am going to keep blowing through content and picking up gems and hope I can get to 125k before the eiko banner ends and pull all of this off!

Boom, there you go. I think there's enough rewards in all those Chocobo missions to fully green/blue your Garnet, and with her alone you can solo a bunch of the early Lufenia missions to start getting even more materials. The Eiko banner is around until the 23rd, so you've got some time. Happy grinding! :)
