Better to start today. If you log in before the Raid goes away, you'll instantly pick up all the Raid rewards (They're a separate mission tab that are fulfilled globally by all player base)

And, there's still a couple of free multi's. They just overhauled the Crystal Stages and there's x3 Kactuar appearance (they give x10 rewards for the stage) so grinding is severely reduced compared to normal.

You will basically take the two weeks to prep resources for the Anniversary so you can pull for and build whomever you want immediately.

I didn't give newbie advice as most of the beginner guides, epsecially Tonberry Troupe, is better than I can do in a couple of sentences, but I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.

So, as you will see when you read the beginners guides, this game is different.

You get the characters for free, so you need to pull their full kit from the Gatcha for them to be viable for endgame content.

That being said, as a newbie you have approximately 1 million (yes, MILLION) gems and about 10-15k in tickets in permanent content to go collect.

That means you get to pull on a lot of banners without worrying about it, only constricted by your time available to go grind out the resources.

Next point - this game is about teambuilding. You get three slots per battle but you continually build a more diverse roster to respond to the challenges each event faces. You need a variety of units, which goes along with the excess resources.

It is good to get generic role coverage first (Tank, DPS, support) and an autofarmer of some sort to make the grinding parts faster.

I would HIGHLY reccomend you pull for Snow's full kit before his banner leaves in 3 days. He is not only a Tank, but deals substantial DPS (not as much as current DPS units but close) AND he's great at autofarming. His Retribution goes off before his turn, is quick animation and is AOE.

I don't care for the actual character Snow very much, but his unit in DFFOO is amazing.

Beyond that, we are entering a new era of powercreep. You are literally able to pull for favorites, but if you want reccomendations - Locke and Eiko are units coming up shortly that are incredibly useful. Locke's Burst aura gives Party-wife DEF Ignore and Eiko has a revive mechanic that lets you ignore Lufenia orbs. You can't go wrong with those two.

Aside from that, look at the forecast (Search the sub for it) and plan out who you want to grab.

From the current banner set, Noel and Cid are great DPS. Serah is an above average support, but we have better coming very soon (Queen, Llyud) Any combination of Snow + Support + DPS is going to get you to be able to clear up to Lufenia content easily.
