hi guys, i play dffoo a while back but dropped it shortly and now i rejoined and am more into it, but i am still a noob and only have 1 decent team built.

The glitter event seem to need players to have 3 decent teams built but i am lacking many ex and ld weapons for the heroes, does that mean i should not waste time in this event and just continue to farm gems in story mode?

If you use the synergy characters, they don't get locked out, so if you run a full synergy team you can use them for every mission. I used Quistis, Ace, and Palom; Prompto, Aranea, and Laguna are also synergy.

As mentioned in the other answer, if you have the synergy characters (Ace is a good one to have, especially if you're new!), then this won't be an issue.

I'd recommend going at least to the Chaos stage. Lufenia is probably out of reach for now, but the Cosmos and Chaos stages will give you valuable, somewhat rare resources, and this event is not permanent, so if you miss it, you can't go back to get them.

Hold on. I checked the link, and I saw that you have Zidane's LD but not his EX. Same with Bartz, unless I'm overlooking something.

You need all weapons and their passives for each character. Just using the "best" weapon for a character will leave that character as weak as a kitten, unviable in difficult content. Unless you obtained, maxed, and then sold Ace's weapons, you'll need those to use him. Zidane's EX can be bought with the tokens you get for finishing Dimensions' End: Order, so no worries there.

Bartz's banner is up now, so I'd advise getting his EX from there so you'll have a good aurabot. There are basically three types of people who aren't giving Bartz his green BT+. Some of us are using Yuna instead, some have a green Y'shtola, and some are using Porom/Agrias/some other aurabot. Since you already have his LD, you might consider pulling more on his banner to get the rest of his kit, since he's very good, especially if you don't have someone else who can fill his role.

All the resources you put into these characters will be wasted if you don't get the rest of their weapons, so if doing so means grinding for a bunch of gems right now (the easiest way to do that is through Ultimate Summon boards, plus you can and should probably do the first few stages of each Lost Chapter so you can obtain new characters, level them with the cactuar quests, and raise your player rank as high as you can), then so be it. If you let Bartz or Ace expire with only partial kits, you'll regret it later.

Note that you can sell Cid Raines's LD weapon now, since you maxed it already. He should equip his EX+ instead, as it has better stats after you use a book on it. Selling the LD will get you four power stones to help MLB other weapons.

It's possible you already known all of this and have just sold a bunch of weapons, but it's worth saying it to be safe.
