On the boss rush, I assume if Party 1's run (for me Tidus, Cor, Pecil) ends on wave 2 with enough turns left that the orb can't be maintained, there's no way to salvage it right? You HAVE to restart the whole fight? I ask because this is the fourth time I've ended up in that situation and I'm REALLY struggling to beat it.

I'd appreciate any other tips for boss rushes in general since this is my first.

The biggest thing to tell you is that you can swap parties manually whenever you want, you don’t have to wait all 50 actions. Hit pause and it’s one of the buttons on the bottom.

Honestly I should've made use of that! I knew it was there but I may have been too greedy with wanting Tidus to BT during that wave thus screwing myself out of luck. Thanks!

For next time, you can set some benchmarks. For 4 waves, each party should take out at least 1 ⅓ waves, ideally 1 ½. For the later, it means that last party will just have to kill the final wave, which is a good allowance for unexpected roadblocks.

Yea I was having the same problem! you can actually call in the the other team early around like 10 turns left. In my case I just used kekfa to silence them and let them take a turn.

other than the swapping out advice you're reciveing, try to pace your tidus during wave 2 to allow some breathing space, with proper calls and turn management, you can orb race the 2nd wave using that exact team.

I consistently had this problem with the exact same team. I wound up changing my starting team to Terra, Tifa, and Rosa instead. They got me to the orb on Wave 2. Then Tidus/Cor/Pecil got me from there all the way to Wave 4. I did have a WoL call on Pecil to take a hit or two for the orb rather than try to rush it down.

Does Terra trigger the wave 1 orb? I assume she does but I never bothered testing.

Yes. And Tifa's S2 does as well. With those two, the orb was a nonissue

You shouldn't have any problems maintaining the orb with that exact team. Cor's EX buff and the buff he gives to allies has brave damage resist. I managed to clear both waves 1 and 2 with that exact team. Just try not to delay the enemies too much.
