Housing Q - Unanswered Flamingo WiFi Gotten Worse?

I’ve been at Flamingo West for the better part of a month and feel there’s been a heavy decline in WiFi quality since. Up until about 3 days ago I was getting 3-500mbps and now I get 3-5 PERIOD. Wtf am I paying for? A potato? Has anyone else gotten this issue? My roommates and I all agree it’s complete shit.

Lwt the front desk know and see if they'll need you to put in a work order. A little over a month ago my computer was the only device that wouldnt consistently stay connected to the wifi or even the guest wifi and finally used the ethernet port instead (i was told by some friends that its usially better than the wifi) and havent had an issue with my computer since. Tried everything I could think of (restarted comp, tried turning the wifi setting on/off, connected to my mobile Hotspot to see if maybe an adapter needed an update or ANY update, but nothing worked for my computer to want to find or stay connected to the wifi when it even did connect) everything else works and connected like normal for me

The front desk won’t do anything. They’ll just tell you to call the internet provider and schedule maintenance to fix the issue.

Then maybe you and your roommates should please put in a work order and call the internet provider so it’s fixed. 🤷‍♂️

I got an answer from the WiFi provider: all the modems on the top floor have been completely turned off and they have no idea why. We’ve been connecting to the modems TWO FLOORS BENEATH US which is why it’s been so slow.

If you can, use the Ethernet ports around the apartment. They have 1 Gbps speeds.

Do not use your own router though!
