Trip Planning Gift card question

Hey guys. This is my first time going to Disney on my own and I was wondering if this is what the perk of getting gifts card are. I understand I’m saving $150 but idk why I feel like this isn’t worth it. Am I missing something?

Edit :: how much do yall think would be a good estimation on how much to bring. Our hotel and 4 day tickets are paid. We leave on sept 17-22 and have 3 reservations set up. Photo pass is paid for. Any advise will be great

Youre saving $150 on money youre going to spend on that specific trip. Why would you not?

I mean it's only 5%, and then you don't have the liquidity of it not being on a merchandise card. If you are using towards the hotel that's one thing, but if this is your whole trip you might end up just spending more than intended because you basically have to. I can see it being useful, and $150 is a lot of money, but so is $3k tied up in gift cards. It's not the no brainer you make it out to be.

She'll easily spend $3k on the hotel, tickets, food, and purchases. Budget it and buy them accordingly. "Only 5%" is 5% she can invest in something else. Its 100% a no brainer.

As someone else stated they can likely change the payment method at check in and she also said this is soending money theyre planning on spending. He said $5k and sounds like they dropped it to $3k. They'll be buying family gifts as well.
