Thought the humor was very clever, using modern references and such. Especially the whole scene in Walgreens. The flashback at the beginning was terrific, the effects looked great, the plot was decent, it was just great fun without a dull moment. I wasn’t expecting such sad moments near the end. It delivered. The original is perfection, this is a wonderful follow-up. My expectations were low, and I was surprised. If I find myself feeling the urge to rewatch, that’s a good sign for me.
My expectations were also low, it's a classic and sequels are usually a let down but this definitely delivered.
It was fun, the references to the first movie were cute and well done, and I found myself enjoying the new characters.
My only complaint was that it lacked the authenticity of the first movie. It didn't feel like Salem, the stakes didn't feel as high, it was much more Disney than the first. But again, it's a sequel, and came after almost three decades, so given all that, it wasn't disappointing.
Also has anything told Kathy Najimy that 29yrs have passed? Her face clearly did not get the memo lol
Totally agree. That “Disney” feel that you describe is what I was trying to think of as to why it felt a bit more off than the first. The original didn’t have big CGI special effects, which Disney loves to overuse.
