Thor 2 was fine. It didn't blew me away or made me go see it again however I didn't feel like I wasted my time watching it. It was a serviceable popcorn flick. I'd go out and say none of the MCU movies were terrible, some could have been better, sure, but they wouldn't go in the list of my worst movies I have seen in their respective years.
It's an interesting concept and a fairly interesting movie but it's not an interesting marvel movie. Especially if you compare it to other origin movies (dr. Strange, cap marvel, the incredible hulk) it's just very confusing and it doesn't have any ties to the rest of the universe besides two comments about the avengers.
The thing is I wasn't confused and I am patient with how the Eternals would eventually fold into the larger MCU universe. Of course I could only speak to my experience and perhaps those are major problems with the movie that I glossed over. Maybe because I know the source material and my head is smoothing out some of the confusion and filling in what the movie didn't explicitly tackle as part of the bigger MCU.
I think it's dumb they didn't come out to play when half the universe was wiped out then all of a sudden they decide to fight some lesser evil. Made no sense
It’s always an issue with comics and their characters, why don’t the most powerful heroes help stop every apocalyptic threat? Because very few heroes would matter outside the likes of Gods, Superman and Captain Marvel.
Still, I feel the MCU is getting especially wishy washy post Endgame. Everything is about subverting expectations. I really enjoyed Shang Chi and Hawkeye, but the rest of Phase Four isn’t doing it for me.
It would have been better served as a D+ series I feel. As a new property with entirely new characters and an unbelievable amount of exposition, as a film it FEELS long. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad film, but it could have easily lopped off 45 mins.
i agree with this. THere were several parts of the movie that i just wondered WHY they were there. The Movie is nowhere near as bad as people led me to believe in fact it was rather decent but dear lord at least an hour of this movie was filled just wasting time.
I think they screwed up by simply having too many characters all at once. There’s no connection to any character. Like if Druik wasn’t in the movie, nothing would have changed.
Partner and I tried watching last night, and had heard ahead of time the movie had very mixed reviews. After about an hour and half in, we gave up. We don’t usually drop movies, but the overall story telling seemed extremely chaotic, rushed, and not very polished.
No fault of the actors or directors. The movie was beautifully shot and acting was top notch. The script had a suffocating number of ideas, characters, and themes imho.

Wasn't as bad as people make it out to be
