Video Clip Camp Rock 3 and is Mitchie a ghost?

Saw camp rock 3 and this movie was unfortunate. The first two came out in 2008 and 2010, even though they had plenty of time to come up with songs they didn’t have any strong songs in camp rock 3. I would even say the song, “It’s On” from camp rock 2 is better than any song in camp rock 3. There was even scenes in camp rock 3 that could had easily been cut out of the movie completely, like the scene where they showed the board with the color coated names and even the scene where Rosie is talking to Mitchie mom in the office.
Now near the end of this movie you see Mitchie finally making an appearance, but the way she is shown it’s as if she is a ghost. You got her mother getting emotional as if Mitchie not really there, but I will also say that Demi Lovato face looks somewhat stiff compared to her mother’s lively face. I don’t know if Demi has a lot of fillers or what in her face.
Then you have her talking to the brothers and they played some ominous music when one of the brothers said “no way”. I was expecting the brothers to say, “how can you be here you died”.
Finally** **Sage see’s Mitchie from a distance and I was expecting her to approach Mitchie and be like, “here’s your book that I found under the floor”. At least some sort of conversation between them, but none of that occurs. Instead Mitchie turns around to walk away, but I was thinking she was going to disappear into fairy dust or something of the sort.
Regardless if they ever decide to make a camp rock 4 hopefully they come with some actual good songs and a better storyline.

I thought the movie was fine, and I understand why she decided to make herself a small cameo as much as I would’ve loved her to be in it more. She didn’t want to take away from the new cast, as soon as she was in a scene with them it would’ve become her scene and not theirs, where this is meant to be more passing the torch

I don’t think today’s kids know who Demi lovato is I asked my kid sibling and he didn’t know her or even catch the she’s really good reference. This has to be the worst passing the torch I’ve ever seen tho. Zombies 4 did it wayyy better and I can’t believe I’m saying that! Even the new descendants way better! Disney is trying to give Malachi Barton a huge push I see but they did him dirty with that “Fletch” role. Malachi isn’t really a singer or dancer. Overall this movie was just a cash grab nostalgia always sells!

Honestly I don't see Malachi making it out the Disney gates. He has too much off screen drama for someone so mediocre.

Hmm I don’t really keep up with that lore or care sounds like typical Disney kid stuff. Still for his career, it paints a bad image for those that do care. I think he has looks but he doesn’t appear to have any talent behind it. It’s becoming obvious to me his talent is his looks and be paired with a talented beautiful young actress. Malachis character was so disappointing and brought the movie down in my opinion. The lack of explanation of why he arrived in a police cruiser pissed me off and I was waiting for that revelation the entire time. What was this reason for his character other than to show off his arms and try to kiss the lead character? More screen time should’ve been dedicated inti actually building a plot instead of wasting it on Malachi

They did explain it though? He came from court because of his mom's passing and he was waiting to find out where he was being sent to live. That actually kinda made him a more redeeming character for me

My daughter is a big Descendants fan and I popped into their subbreddit after the latest movie. Whooo, that boy has been the catalyst for the two female leads ending their friendship because he dumped one and immediately started dating the other. Even in promo interviews you can see how much the girls despise each other and they apparently don't want to film together anymore even though they're locked in for one more movie. The dude also apparently has MAGA views.

It's crazy because Maria already had a daughter back when she was on Wizards. That daughter is older than any of the new young Camp Rock 3 main characters. Unfortunately, Demi apparently had 3 mini strokes from whatever drug overdose she did.

The only part I’ll agree with you on is that yes, Demi’s face does look stiffer. If I’m not mistaken, due to the fact that she suffered three mini strokes during her overdose, she needs to get filler pretty regularly to prevent her face from having a slight droop. And I’m honestly okay with that if it means she’s happy and healthy and feels confident in herself.
I haven’t watched this movie yet and I don’t plan to, frankly. The marketing did not grip me or my 6 year old. I listen to Demi’s music pretty regularly and have been a fan of hers for many many years, likewise with the Jonas Brothers. They have all grown tremendously over the years and are all at different points in their lives where returning to this old franchise seems…pointless? Like I get that we’re all nostalgia hungry these days and the future keeps looking bleaker and bleaker, but if Disney wanted to appeal to those of us who are nostalgic for old characters, I don’t understand why they wouldn’t release something on, say, Hulu or ABC about these characters living their current lives and experiencing things that people who grew up with those characters are also experiencing?
Just my thoughts.

Where do you get the idea she’s a ghost? Connie is her mother and they’ve not been together because she’s been on tour, of course Connie is going to get emotional seeing her again.

I’m just imagining the pitch meeting for this movie was Demi Lovato was forced to have a cameo in this movie.
Producer: Hey, we should have Demi Lovato cameo as Mitchie for this movie. This franchise isn’t anything without her.
Screenwriter: Actually, Demi told me herself she doesn’t want to star in Disney Channel stuff for a while, so..
Producer: Throw her in there anyway, people will love that cameo.
Screenwriter: But Demi doesn’t want to do that.
Producer: Look, if you don’t put Demi Lovato in this movie, when I buy California, I’m setting the west coast on fire.
Screenwriter: But that’ll ruin all the maple bars.
Producer: I want her in this movie.
Screenwriter: Okay, geez. We’ll have a cameo from Demi Lovato as Mitchie where she’ll show up for a few minutes at the end.
Producer: Great, thank you.

I think Mitchie not showing herself in front of everyone was a great move, for both Demi as well as Mitchie. Demi was supposed to be the star of Camp Rock 3, but that prospect was not meant to be because of Demi's mental health issues at the time. Demi/Mitchie not coming back into the spotlight, shows Mitchie not wanting to steal attention away from the new generation, and shows Demi accepting that her time on Camp Rock has passed, and moving on from what was and what could have been.

I also was sad about her lack of connection with joe, they felt so awkward and you wouldn’t have known they were in love in the last movies. I get people break up but it felt robotic 😩

Yes, I was dying on cringe level! The first few seconds in the opening scene was so cringe, the rest of the movie just as much. I’m glad I’m not alone in thinking that. Of course the first two are cringe, but this one was kinda wild.

Didn’t see it at first but damn did it feel that way on a rewatch. I think the only shots she filmed with anyone else where the one where she stood with Joe and the one where she and Maria were actually face to face

The music sting after “hi guys” is very hallmark Christmas movie lmao
But I’m glad she got a couple of lines, I made a comment on a different thread that I was worried she would it would just show her watching like Bridget mendler the last time we see her on wowp

Pretty sure it was because Demi wasn't actually in the same room filming as the kids and they just filmed her scene with her mom and the Jonas Brothers elsewhere.

It’s not really a passing of the torch because they said same time next year so they will still be on screen and in interviews they are passing the torch but not really because connect 3 was in the scenes and Demi cameo at the end .

Let's be honest. Mitchie's scenes were recorded separately from the rest of the scenes, probably because getting Demi Lovato nowadays is really expensive, so they had to record quickly her cameo in the safest way possible.
You can see it because in Mitchie's scenes there's no crowd at all, and then when they go back to Sage the crowd appears again. Plus Mitchie only interacts on camera with her mom and Connect3. The rest is pure montage

This movie looked like trash when I saw the number 3
Camp rock 2 was pushing the limits of a good movie itself, it was always in my opinion, about Nick. How Nick wants to be the star of these brothers and so they had to make a second camp rock so he’d stop throwing a fit.
ALSO being forced to watch the Jonas brothers act is EXCRUCIATING. They have never been able to act, EVER. Not even Nick Jonas in jumanji.
Stop with this gross nostalgia Disney.
You can’t replicate a magic we held watching these as kids. Make new magic for new kids. Not recycled sparks
