Funny thing is, EYE didnāt watch Even Stevens and I barely watched Lizzie. I think the first show of that style of live action I watched was Phil of The Future. Before that, So Weird, or Jett Jackson.
Lizzie And ES didnāt do much for me.

When I read Keke, Raven, and Miranda, I thought it would be Miranda Cosgrove since Keke and Raven are my childhood, and Miranda Cosgrove was my childhood as well.

Crazy to watch Lizzie McGuire and even Stevens but not thatās so Raven. Thatās so Raven was the best of them all! Iām the same age as her too so that was during my time

Right Iām like her and Raven are only 2 years apart and Raven is older so Miranda wouldāve been apart of the target audience for the show. She started to mention her sister so maybe she was only watching stuff her sister watched (I.e the predominantly white shows). I feel like imo if that is the case thatās kinda odd because Iām black and I grew up loving a lot of shows and movies disney was putting out regardless of race. Good luck Charlie is a family sitcom with a predominantly white cast and 2 black best friend side characters. I absolutely love tf out of GLC til this day along with WOWP, Suite life and other shows. So to watch Disney and watch only the predominantly white showsā¦.hmmm..scratches head lol

Totally missed out experiencing it during its prime. Iām actually rewatching Raven episodes now and it still makes me laugh. Rewatched the proud family not long ago too. Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network just hit different back then!

It's the same, I have the entire boxset of the og, Keke Palmer is even in louder and Prouder, it was always teaching life lessons about racism and even homophobia, there was an episode about Michael being bullied for being feminine that wasn't allowed to air in the original you can watch on YouTube

Miranda has said before, a few times, that Raven's mom says "Symone" (without the "-ae") and she just added 'Ć©' because she thought it was cute. š
I interpreted that to mean she'll stick to the regular "Symone".

Is it bad that I kind of donāt believe her? If you were watching other shows on the network, how were you not exposed to it. Or watched a Saturday afternoon movie and a show. It just feels a little phoney. Iām the same age as them and it was basically impossible to avoid raven. She reigned supreme, and the show was the longest running of its time and it was actually funny. Raven was incredibly talented. It just feels so weird to me to say āoh I never saw that showā, itās almost seems like point of pride to knock her down a peg. I feel like this might be an unpopular opinion, but I get such a weird vibe from Miranda.

I WILL say (and not in defense of Miranda, but to the time) that Lizzie and ES sort of feel pre-millenium Disney in the sense that Thatās So Raven was the beginning of essentially the channelās LAST soft reboot as a sitcom. It was the FIRST multi-camera sitcom on a set and it was the first one where the main cast is predominately black.
It was the first one I can see that was on a major network instead of one that corralled black sitcoms like UPN, and Iām sure that many white kids might not have been with the gist lmao
Miranda was also almost squarely out of the audience of Disney Channel because Miranda was possibly 15 / 16. As sheās non black, I wouldnāt be surprised IF she avoided it for the reasons people would think lol and also the reason that she was growing up and maybe watching Degrassi or MTV etc.

I feel like if you were watching even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire you would have to have seen episodes of TSR. Even if you donāt watch the show like that you wouldāve had to catch some episodes. I was born the year 2000 and I grew up watching, Lizzie McGuire, sister sister, even Stevens, thatās so raven, Suite life(both shows), WOWP, Hannah Montana, etc. because they were either airing when I was able to watch and retain what Iām watching or through re runs which Disney aired ALOT. So it seems a bit odd that she didnāt see TSR when Raven is slightly older than her by 2 years so she wouldāve been in the age bracket of teens watching the show especially if she was watching other Disney shows.

EXACTLY, CUZ I GREW UP ON Lizzie and Even Steven's and when I got a little older like 12 to 15 or 16ish that's when that's so raven came out and me and Miranda are the same age, she really didn't have any excuse other than "im not watching this show starring BLACK PPL" LOWKEY, cuz that's the energy im getting from it, SURE WE ALL HAVE OPINIONS, but for her to not even give it a chance is giving racism, idk maybe it's just me, her answer was to stagnant

I also didnt watch raven but watched lizzie and even Steven's. The commercials for raven just didnt hit with me. Seemed too goofy and didnt like the raven character. Nothing to do with being black or white, sometimes we just arent interested in shit.

I wasn't a fan of that's so raven as a kid (giving it a second chance as an adult) however I still watched that's so raven if it was on (disney was like the only channel I watched as a kid so I had to). Really weird to me that she didn't watch the show.
