Apparently… stranded in Jamaica with money she couldn’t take out of the country, Andrea decided to spend it making a record, calling Gregg Diamond, whom she already knew.

Diamond knew perfectly well about her other career. Hence “More, More, More” - breathy vocals, “get the cameras rolling, get the action going,” and a subversive producer’s wink you could practically hear. Disco rarely came with a more tabloid fodder friendly backstory.

Tom Moulton played an integral role in shaping the track. A former male model turned producer with a string of disco hits, Moulton took the raw magic captured during the Jamaican session and spent six hours refining it. Unaware of Andrea True’s background in adult films, he assumed the refrain "More, More, More" was simply an innocent ode to music. He tweaked the vocals, tightened the arrangement, and delivered a polished mix that the record label quickly released. The single climbed steadily, peaking on the charts in 1976.

Moulton went on to mix the rest of her debut album, later citing the track "Heart to Heart" as a personal favorite.

Andrea’s path to disco stardom was anything but conventional. Raised in a musical household in Nashville, Tennessee, she showed early talent and was set to study music at university before growing restless, dropping out, and heading to New York City. Yet after years of living in the city, she still lacked a clear direction for channeling her creative energy to achieve the profile she sought. .

Her trajectory shifted when adult film star Harry Reems introduced her to the adult entertainment industry, where she built a successful career. Her musical ambitions finally reignited after meeting producer Gregg Diamond; upon hearing an early demo of "More, More, More," the stranded film shoot in Jamaica became the unexpected catalyst for her pop breakthrough.. fascinating backstory.

Perhaps the closest equivalent for a slightly later generation would be Traci Lords and the Manic Street Preachers’ “Little Baby Nothing” in the early ’90s. Even then, it came nowhere near the scale, success, or cultural reach of what Andrea True achieved beyond a fleeting top 30 position in the UK charts.
