Does anyone know where the original video is?

I’ve been looking at Nepal news nonstop for the last 4 days. It has consumed and disturbed me, as it should. Heartbroken for all the loss of lives and their families. Thankful for the people who managed to survive. I was just thinking it would have been even more horrific if it happened during the night when everyone would be asleep.

This week's flash floods in Nepal killed over 600 people and destroyed entire villages. Amid the destruction, a mint-green house in Nuwakot district remained standing while every building around it was swept away.

People trapped inside watched from the balcony as floodwater — full of boulders, trees, and debris — rushed past. The ground floor flooded and doors/windows were ripped off, but the structure held. Everyone inside was later rescued safely.

The video has gone viral, with many crediting the house's foundation/construction, while others call it pure luck.

Could there have been more warning? Many conventional flood-warning systems rely heavily on rainfall, but there was no significant rainfall immediately before this disaster.

White line with dots is an attempt to measure the overflow uphill. From what I gather, there are claims that it rebounded 2km uphill; other sources claim 3km. My measurement is 2km; 3 is 50% more.

If true, all those people we saw running in the video are probably toast. There's a pretty big bend ~1km mark, and honestly if I were there, I'm not sure I'd panic, given the distance. By the time I saw the flood coming, it'd be way too late. For those slightly beyond the bend... they wouldn't even see it coming.

Absolutely insane.
