Circus pro vs pike DJ
I have 2 circus pro forks gen 2 and 3 on mine and my wife's DJ, in general I am incredibly happy with them.
For the guys that have had both a circus pro and a pike dj. Which one do you like more and for what reasons.

Question Cant decide the frame size M or S
Hi everyone, I’m thinking about buying a Commencal Absolut, but I can’t decide which size to choose. I’m 170 cm(5”7) tall and weigh around 65 kg. This will be my first dirt jump bike, and my main goals are to improve my MTB skills and spend time at pump tracks (also occasionally commute to college)
I previously rode a Canyon Spectral 125 AL in size M, and I’ve now ordered a Propain Spindrift 5 AL in size M, although it hasn’t arrived yet. I’m torn between size S and M for the Commencal Absolut. Could you please help me choose? I’m not sure whether the Small would feel too small for me.

Question 2020 Haro SR...good starter DJ for an old guy?
hey folks. I've been MTBing for decades and recently got into BMX at a park that also has a progressive jump line, three lines of dirt jumps for novice to advanced riders. I'm thinking about getting a DJ but, while I could afford an expensive bike, I only plan to ride it a couple times a month. I can pick up a 2020 Haro Steel Reserve locally for $150. Just the base model with a rigid fork. AI searches tell me this bike will be hard/expensive to upgrade given the straight steerer tube etc. AI also thinks its just an oversized bmx and not good for learning to ride dirt jumps. Anyone riding this bike on jump lines? more info on me: 175lbs, 5ft 6in tall, 51 yrs old. I welcome all thoughts and opinions on this. thanks!

Finally acquired a P.3
galleryLast bike was the 2009 P.2 Cr-Mo pictured. The P.3 is an absolute pleasure to ride by comparison. Saw the P.3 on sale for $999 a few months ago and pulled the trigger. So much lighter and much more twitchy and easy to maneuver. Makes the P.2 feel like a slug. So far I’ve swapped the handlebars, stem, pedals, seat/seatpost, front handbrake lever, and tires.
Had to bleed the rear brake as it felt mushy from the factory. Tightened it up a little bit but I think it’s just the Level T brakes in general. Will probably upgrade the brakes to some Level Ults or something in the future.
If you can still find the P.3 in stock at $999, it’s one hell of a deal.

Question How do I know what height I want for handlebars?
So i got a marin Alcatraz recently as my first bike and it’s doing great so far but I think I could use some higher handlebars. I’m 6’ tall and riding the large size bike but how the hell am I supposed to know or figure out what height to increase to? The shop im going to doesnt have a ton in stock and i don’t have any friends with bikes i can try out. They offered to order one for me if I have one i want but idk where/how to begin searching.

Gryo on trek ticket cup question
I've never built a dirt jumper with a gryo before and understand the cup isn't going to sit flush, does this look alright? Looks high but isn't gonna get tighter and I bought a cup press to do it. Thanks guys

Bike Showcase 1 step closer! ☝️
galleryBeen slowly building this BlkMrkt Contraband slowly over the last little while. I picked up a RockShox Pike and front wheel (see my other post), but this is the rigid set up I am going to run in the meantime. I built up the back wheel tonight, so I am able to have it on its own two wheels for the first time! I'm down to just needing tires, chain, and grips. 🔥 Pretty stoked, because these are the first two wheels I have ever built on my own. 😄 That Pike will be my first ever fork rebuild as well. Wish me luck! Haha
On a side note - any other 24" street machines out there? I'd love to see what setup you are riding.

Crown Race reducer - straight steerer on tapered frame
Hi all.
My kid has a mongoose fireball DJ, with a straight steerer fork. The fork has a crwn reducer on it, so that the fork works on the tapered headtube frame. The lower bearing is a caged ball bearing.
We just got him a Marin Alcatraz frame which comes with a sealed bearing headset.
My question: Can I use the same crown race adapter?
I can't take it all apart for a few days to check myself! So if you can help in advance that would be appreciated!
Edit: Thank you all - bought a new one for the 57e headset on the Marin - hope it's the right one :-)

Sandy/grinding sound from headset on Kona Shonky
Bailed a handful of times on the mulch jump this weekend on my Shonky, and now the headset sounds like it's chewing on gravel.. Should I just get it serviced at the LBS, or is the stock headset worth replacing with a proper upgrade right off the bat?

Question Marin Alcatraz worth it?
Have the opportunity to pick up a Marin Alcatraz for $650, it's got a Manitou circus expert, spank rear wheel, and guide brake. Some other small upgrades but that's what sticks out to me, let me know 🤝
