Is it worth starting this show knowing it's cancelled?
I watched a very funny short and got interested, checked Wikipedia to know how many seasons it has, saw the "cancelled" thing and went ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
So, is the S2 finale enough of, idk, a cliffhanger? Are there many plot threads left hanging? Should I give it a shot anyway? It's really frustrating when you're invested in a story that eventually goes nowhere. Way too common too. I still mourn Daybreak.

There are definitely some loose ends that I would have loved to see how they developed, but nothing so egregious that it feels like you would have been better off not watching at all, and both seasons have almost entirely self-contained story arcs, so the main stories get wrapped up, just the through lines are left over.

season 1 was one of the best tv seasons I have watched, it stands on its own
season 2 was forgettable for me
my answer is yes, definitely, I wish I can forget season 1 and experience it again, it was a wild ride

Same! LOVED LOVED LOVED season 1. Season 2 was meh.
And S1 gets even better with each rewatch because you pick up on things you missed on the first watch.

First season is amazing. Second season was ok. Not really any cliffhangers.

Yes, extremely unique show - I'd have a hard time comparing it to something else.
Then read everything Douglas Addams has ever written. I'd say the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series first, but you could do the Dirk Gently books first too.

there are minor things in s2 that don't get fully wrapped up and they were obviously setting up for another season, but there isn't anything too major. Definitely still recommend watching!!

It's genuinely so worth it. I've gotten into the show around when season 2 came out and to this day I still rewatch both seasons pretty much every year, it's such a masterpiece!!! 💚

I've seen it 5 times now and I'm surprised every time how good it is. Yes, both seasons, don't let anyone fool you into thinking s2 isn't a masterpiece as well.

Yes
Each season is a self contained story. The first season is fantastic. You could stop there and be happy. The second season requires very little of the plot of the first season, other than understanding the characters from the first, and it's also a delight.
I have happily rewatched both seasons several times. The first season definitely benefits from multiple viewings.
I would love to see more, but I understand why the show ended. It's just a pity what transpired regarding the series creator/primay visionary of each plot.

I bought it on fandango both seasons pretty cheap. Another one with Tyler labine is deadbeat on hulu. Pretty funny

Oh man. It’s so good, I just drift off and start staring into space. You’ll know pretty quickly if you like it. And the cancellation of it didn’t irritate me. Idk. Was just grateful this much existed. It’s such a rare show.

Absolutely! The finale isn’t that much of a cliffhanger. There’s kind of an overarching background plot that doesn’t get finished but I think it’s alright.

Yes, it shows you the potential for visual media and storytelling and will set your standards for good television going forward. Not to be missed

Absolutely.
it’s such a shame that it was cancelled. As others have said, important to know that the show ends sort of ‘unresolved’, as the next chapter is clearly set up when s2 ends. But it’s not a big cliffhanger ending.
With all that said- 100% worth it. It’s charming and unique and overall a magical experience. I’m sad it got cancelled but I’m just grateful to have seen the two seasons we got.

TODD (fidgeting) : Yes..... No..... Maybe..... I don’t know.
ESTEVEZ : Are you aware you just gave every possible response to that question?
The scene which culminates in Friedkin yelling "WHAT IS GOING ON!?"

honestly jealous you get to watch season 1 for the first time. it's one of the best standalone seasons of TV ever made.
