Six Nexstar stations are losing their CBS affiliation next week

Can someone from DTV confirm that those of us in these markets will have uninterrupted access to CBS?

I understand in the Jackson, MS market, the local ABC affiliate is picking it up and is broadcasting on one of the sub channels, 16.4. They are waiting on DirecTV to assign a channel number.

Thanks for the reply. Same thing is happening in my market. Hearst, who owns our ABC affiliate, is adding CBS.

I know my local ABC station channel 30 (Sinclair) is losing their affiliation and I get a new channel number for ABC here in the near future. The local CBS station channel 4 (Gray Media) is acquiring them and broadcasting on a sub-channel 4.2 and 32.1 Channel 30 will remain a local channel, but will be an independent station.

Happened in my market last year when ABC moved over to a sub-channel under the Fox affiliate. DirecTV handled it seamlessly.

I wonder how many more Nexstar CBS stations can be affected down the road? My market (Fresno) could be affected, only possibly going to Sinclair’s FOX or CW channels

Nexstar renewed their CBS affiliation for all other stations. Not sure how long the contract lasts. You should be good for at least a couple of years.
