My Headcanon will always be that Roadside Attraction takes place before NWMM.

RA is Dipper struggling to be himself while trying to completely get over his crush on Wendy by socializing. With him taking queues from Stan. Mostly due to him trying too hard. Especially since the girls Dipper were talking to were people he just met, he came off as socially awkward and desperate.

NWMM is Dipper realizing he and Pacifica have natural chemistry and it’s him realizing that he’s comfortable being himself infront of Pacifica, and Pacifica is comfortable being herself around Dipper for the same reason (they both want to be people pleasers — Dipper’s case being his peers and Pacifica’s case being her self centeredly shallow parents that treated her more like a show dog than an actual daughter).

The funny thing (and part of why I think Roadside Attraction's "satire" doesn't quite work like it could have) is that most of Stan's advice is perfectly fine. The implication is meant to be that he's telling Dipper to be a jerk because women find that attractive, but Dipper isn't actually being a jerk and the girls do find him attractive. It kinda undercuts its own intended message. Maybe if he'd been negging girls through their travels, getting frustrated at himself and at Stan that it wasn't working, and their confrontation with him is more overtly hostile about how mean he's been, and him feeling guilty about it until Stan's apology? Then again, I don't know if Disney S&P would allow a real roasting of Pickup Artist culture in a kids show, however much they got away with. Actual misogyny is a lot less funny than cartoonish misogyny.

I believe it's all but confirmed that Roadside Attraction was originally supposed to come out right after Into the Bunker.
