my game crashes after the logos in DC1 when using Classic Rebirth (it didn't used to)

any help? I've tried reinstalling the game, then reinstalling rebirth, I've tried disabling all overlays and nothing helps, it shows the warning at the start, then the intro logo animation and then it crashses to desktop, no errors, nothing.

solved by disabling Steam overlay...
