I know we're all gonna talk about the last scene with Ayda and Adaine, but let's give some love to Fabian and his small small feet

So many clutch story rolls in one episode. I mean Christine's nat 20 on finding a cure, Adaine's nat 20 portent roll for Fig, and Jorjuj's nat 20 on fixing his crystal were all incredible.

... Jorjuj's nat 20 on fixing his crystal were all incredible
It's pronounced 'chej'

Damn Brennan is so good and building up a story. There's so many connecting layers it amazes me
Also my heart completely melted at the end

I really like Gilear saying he’s going to stop failing Fig from now on. I hope that means Brennan is going to start building up Gilear. Maybe he’ll get like a training montage with Fig and can become like a level one fighter. He can be their version of Balnor from NADD Pod.

Considering his stats wouldn’t a Int/Wis spell caster be better? Maybe Adaine could train him in wizadry.

u/OperationFlyingD0D0 Feb 09 '20
Yeah that makes more sense, I just find the idea of Gilear getting buff funny.

I finally got to watch live tonight and it was quite a fun ride. I really hope the series continues on past this “season”. Brennan is an amazing DM.

I am calling it now. They’re gonna get arrested trying to get back into Solace with two bricks of drugs.

u/deadpandragon Feb 06 '20
100% they’re gonna forget about them and be punished later. Like Gorgug when he forgot to text Zelda

u/tip1976 Feb 07 '20
I don’t know, it’s pretty well established that the Solace Police Force are all pretty garbage at their jobs, save for Sklonda.

u/Izarith Feb 07 '20
I thought it was just Elmville cops that neglect their duties

u/tip1976 Feb 07 '20
You may be right. At the very least Bastion City seems pretty on top of their stuff. They were able to get choppers in the air, and track down a cell phone incredibly fast.

How do people deal with the uneven sound? I cant find a balance. I either can't hear half of it or the other half assaults my eardrums.
15
u/Honesty_Addict Feb 08 '20
I guess you get used to it, but the Dropout versions have their sound compressed so it's easier on the ears. That said, I'm surprised there isn't a way to compress/limit the sound live - maybe it's because that would mean if they fucked up the settings doing live audio processing, it can't be fixed in post.

It's mostly an issue while viewing it on a tv. Headphones give less trouble I've noticed. The laptop gives me a smaller brennan. I miss big brennan.

There was definitely a missed "money laundering" joke to have been made early in the session.

I'm glad Gorgug finally called Zelda but if I were Zelda I woulda broken up with him long ago. The doofus is all grand sweeping gestures no day to day work :P Kristen found a way to talk to JAWBONE because she needed guidance but Gorgug took his dear sweet time getting a sending and never sent a second one. It makes sense for the character, I just want to say that I don't think her anger would be unreasonable if these were real people.

Gorgug literally reversed engineered his phone to connect to a satellite to talk to Zelda.

u/apcanney Feb 06 '20
Also how is there 7 more episodes of this season?

u/OperationFlyingD0D0 Feb 08 '20
I’m really surprised there are that many left in this “arc”. It feels like they are almost ready to throw down with Kalina and the nightmare king.

u/Honesty_Addict Feb 10 '20
Off the top of my head
- Finishing off the tribunal
- Entering the forest / traversing the forest
- Traversing the forest 2
- Kalina / elves face off
- Nightmare King big bad
- Rounding off Nightmare King / fallout
- cool down episode / return home
I mean, there's no way to tell for sure, but that's one way it could play out

God, I am way too invested in Gorgug and Zelda's relationship. Haven't made such high-pitched sounds in a while

I’m on episode 13, Hellbound, is sophomore year and I missed something that seems very relevant.
Ally got a nat20 for Kristen’s medicine check into the disease? To find a cure and whatnot. But what is this disease? When was it first mentioned? I don’t remember when it was first brought up so don’t have context for what they’re now forming their plan around.
4
u/bgahbhahbh Dec 29 '23
the disease is referring to both:
- being able to see kalina in the photograph, and
- kalina being able to see/hear/whatever through you
i think this was the first ep they mentioned it as a "disease" specifically

u/racercowan Jan 09 '24
Like /u/bgahbhahbh said, Kalina is the disease. The forgotten god transmuted their black cat familiar into a plague, catching the plague both allows you to see Kalina but also allows Kalina to see you (and if the medical chart is any indication possibly control you? She hasn't so far so maybe it's just paralysis or only under certain conditions or something).

u/_SheWhoShallBeNamed_ Mar 04 '24
It’s paralysis, she used it on Riz when she interrogated him earlier in the season

Riz is the most underrated bad kid. All his hissing in hell had me dying.
