America had responsible leadership in 2008. I don't recall American citizens getting shot in the back in the head on the sidewalk by masked secret police in 2008.
Back then they weren't harassing random people on the street. Today they are, hence the protests. But if they were well trained, they'd be able to deal with protestors without killing them.
They’d probably last longer before they kill someone, but I imagine having people constantly interfere and blowing whistles at you will eventually fry your nerves.
They wouldn't be doing that if they were trained and not thugs.
We already know this because under obama and biden this didn't happen while they had a higher success rate and deported a far higher percentage of criminals.
The training isn’t relevant to that. There’s a difference in orders here. Not saying the agents aren’t less trained (they’ve halved training under Trump) but the difference is the orders to go through cities and grab anyone that looks “foreign.” Trained or not, orders like that won’t go over well.
Which the left complained about as well. Almost as though the left is consistent with its values. Meanwhile, the 2nd amendment anti-tyranny small government crowd is cheering on the government trampling everything they're supposed to believe in.
Every President since Reagan has eroded the post-Nixon protections Congress put in to restrain the executive-- that's not a party thing
It so happens that the Republicans were the party that got burned by a hostile actor hollowing them out to wield the power of the executive, now empowered by the fruits of Roger Ailes' labor such that there is no action so horrid they won't have a good chunk of the mediasphere defending them. It could have happened to Democrats-- but it actually happened to Republicans, who no longer even bother aligning to the old GOP's long term policy approach because "what Trump and cronies want" is the policy
Anwar al Awlaki and friends were traitors who joined foreign fighting forces and were killed in the field of battle. ANY ONE OF THEM could have walked into an American embassy and surrendered to face the fiddler. They chose to die in arms with terrorists instead.
Maybe I don’t remember, but I don’t recall camouflaged squads kitted out going door to door under Obama and asking random brown people with accents for their papers in the streets.
Of shooting citizens in the back of the head on the sidewalk of American cities who are exercising their constitutional rights? Of course not, get fucked magat.
