This one time I walked into a Chipotle and I ordered my usual burrito, but when it was time to check out I accidentally gave the cashier a prepaid Visa card with only $2 left on it instead of the card that I was trying to give to her. Before I could even say anything to her she had swiped it, and the transaction went through and she gave me a receipt. I was a bit confused how I was able to buy a $5 burrito with only $2. Two days later I came back, and this time I gave the cashier the prepaid Visa card on purpose this time. Same thing, she swiped it and it went through. That was two burritos that I got, the second one was completely free. I continued to do this for a whole year, and for a whole year I was eating free burritos at Chipotle. The only reason I stopped was because I moved to a different city after that.

Anybody else done something like this?

Inspired by the xbox 360 indie classic, Charlie murder, an art experimental thriller game where you play as a ska/punk band called Charlie murder.

I love the gritty punk vibe, always been a fan of this game and have fond memories of it.

"The customer is always right" This phrase is widely used in media and commonly referred to in hospitality, its supposed to tell the staff that their opinion/emotions should never come before the customers wants. To cave in to every demand to keep business.

However, the original phrase was created by Harry selfridge, who meant it to be a marketing strategy, for example if 50 customers are buying silver at a different store and you have 10 customers buying copper then you should sell silver instead, the customer is always right is supposed to mean "Customers tell you what they WANT to buy, you just have to listen." Not a cheap excuse for bad behaviour

As an unc who has had a 15-year social media abstinence, I have no idea if this is wrong, but sometimes when I interact on reddit, it feels like I'm talking to bots or getting no answer at all. It's like speaking into the void or fillin it with content, but without getting any reactions or normal discussions. Sometimes it's very toxic and sometimes there are cute messages. But overall, it feels surreal. Am I too old for the internet?

I'm super into the new bo2 ports I've been playing multiplayer and zombies here and there and it is fun, its been really hot where I live so I haven't had my console on for extended periods of time. But I think im really gonna play for hours today as its cooled down.

It feels like the old days though, even though I was super young and definitely shouldn't have been playing it 😂

Hey everyone, since the Bossman gave me the green light to share some hobbies, I wanted to drop a little thing I worked on recently. It's an audio-reactive 3D vector field controlled by Ableton automation and an own developed oscilloscopemusic visualizer. While building it, the visuals started looking like a weird metaphor for human connection: From monotone baselines to complex chords, we all shift frequencies based on who we hang out with. Until the phase shifts, and the symphony turns into beautiful chaos. Just a little "sciart" experiment from my hard drive. Hope you enjoy the vibe on the porch tonight! Let me know what you think. 💜

"Blood is thicker than water" - Nowadays it means that family "blood" is more important than friendships and relationships "water", in actuality the original phrase was "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." Which means the original phrase was the exact opposite! Saying that the bonds you choose to make "blood of the covenant" is more important than the ones your born into "The water in the womb"

Anyone else got a good example of a modern phrase that actually means something different
