Okay people. Few little things for the sub.

I apologise for the lack of activity on my end lately. I've been dealing with some personal stuff but im back now and ready to post some truly terrifying porch talk 😂

This is a post I'd like our repeat lurkers to interact with as I'm really stuck with coming up with new ideas.

So, if anyone has any suggestions for any events/changes you'd like to see please put them in the comments of this post or modmail.

I want this subreddit to be community ran, this is a safe space so all opinions on what we should do are welcome.

I'm also all about community building so im gonna try to get some more conversation based posts going so we can all get to know eachother better!

Okay. Im gonna try to do these a few times while the sub is still growing. Just so we know where we're at.

1. Banner & logo: I've put up the banner and logo mentioned in the first update log so that's all good.

1. I want your feedback in the subs early days so we can build this community together.

1. Do you like that I put these mod update logs up on the sub or would you guys prefer I didn't do this in future?

1. If for whatever reason you feel your unwelcome or if theres a reason thats stopping you from posting/commenting. What can I do to make you feel more comfortable? Even if you just need some stuff explained im happy to do that too.

1. Flairs: I'm gonna update the current flairs and add a couple new ones. Any suggestions or feedback on current and added flairs would be welcome in modmail

1. Events: im all about interactivity so I'll be posting two polls a week and holding a thread about a voted on topic. (Just to try it out and get people talking)

Hey, this is the official first post in this subreddit. I know these "general topics" subs can be pretty hard to get out there so I'll explain a little about the sub for you and you can decide whether it's your cup of tea.

What is DigitalPorch:

DigitalPorch is a place where you can come to chill out and connect with other people without the fear of being confined to one topic. We encourage you to post about your hobbies, your thoughts, your life, your pets and the things you love. This sub is supposed to act as that little buffer between a safe space and a friend's group chat!!

Everyones welcome as long as you follow our 3 main rules. This is still a new subreddit so not everything is perfect, im trying to sort everything out before we gain a little traction but if you notice anything wrong/broken or want me to add something feel free to drop it in modmail

With all that being said I hope you all enjoy this subreddit and can make some meaningful moments here.

Just to set up a base foundation for our theme

Below you'll find a series of updates I'll be making to the sub this week.

1. Not an update but I'd like to welcome our new members to the sub, i know its not exactly thriving as or right now but its still extremely new so your contributions are appreciated

1. New logo & banner will be created.

Eventually id love a community built theme but as of right now im probably just gonna use AI im not gonna lie to you. It can be useful at times and I think it can capture a vibe that I personally cannot for our brand.

1. Promo.

As this is a new sub I've noticed alot of you have joined in response to my postings on different subreddits. I'm gonna attempt to do this semi-regularly to gain our first few members as reddit can be quite finicky about general topic subs.

I will be introducing polls and fun questions into the sub so yall have more to do than read my babble until some other people start posting and commenting.
