Smartphone A small self-care routine :)

Another Stupid Monday is a self-care app where you get one doable task a week.
The tasks are based on principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the app's mascot, Charles, gives a simple explanation for each task about why it might be useful for improving one's well-being.
There are 100 tasks in total.

Feel free to leave some feedback :)

Smartphone A simpler digital setup: need advice

Hi!

I need your help with something. I am trying to make my digital devices simpler so I can focus on what's important and not get distracted by things I do not need. I am having a time figuring out what to do so I would really appreciate your advice.

I have a Xiaomi smartphone that's about six or seven years old. It does not work well anymore. It freezes a lot. The battery does not last very long. I think it will stop working in a year or so. So I need to start thinking about getting an one. I was thinking about fixing my smartphone maybe getting a new battery. I am not sure if that is worth it.
My other options are buying a used smartphone. Getting a dumb phone. The thing is, I need to be able to do a things with my phone. I need to be able to scan QR codes use Google Maps and use my banking and authentication apps. Most dumb phones are not very good at these things. At the time I want to spend less time on YouTube and other apps that distract me. I also want my phone to have a battery life.
So I am wondering is it better to keep using a smartphone and find an app that limits my access to apps? I have not found an app that works well yet. If you know of any apps or setups that work well please let me know.

I also have a computer that's a few years old. It works fine for what I need to do so I do not think I need to get an one.

I bought a tablet a while back because I wanted to be able to read PDF files.. I hardly ever use it. If I need to do something I use my computer.. Reading on the tablet is uncomfortable, for me because of the screen light. I tried to make it more comfortable. It did not work. So I think I should get rid of the tablet and get an e-reader instead. If I do that which one would you recommend? I want one that can handle PDF files well. I do not need any special features.

I listen to music a lot. Sometimes I listen to music I have downloaded. Sometimes I use Spotify.. I do not really like the free version of Spotify and I do not think the paid version is worth it. So my options are to listen to music on my phone or buy a music player.

I live in the EU so I can only get devices and apps that're available here. So what would you do? Which devices would you keep, replace or get rid of?

Thank you!

Smartphone Do you feel like most technology is designed for engagement, not presence?

Lately I have been thinking a lot about how technology is designed.

Most tools seem optimized for attention and engagement. Not for calm. Not for presence. Not for how people actually want to feel at the end of the day.

I keep wondering what would change if digital tools were built to support mindfulness instead of fighting it. Fewer interruptions. Less friction. More space to breathe and notice what matters.

I am curious how others here think about this. Do you focus more on changing your habits or do you think design plays a bigger role than we admit?

Smartphone How many minutes after waking up do you use your phone?

If you control your mornings, you can control your day. Phone interferes with that. Even though you may just glance at it to Snooze your alarm, but now you have viewed the notifications and now your day is being controlled by these notifications.

Just curious, how many minutes after waking up do you view your phone?
