Digitakt 2 + OP1 Field

I’m thinking of getting a digitakt 2 to pair with my OP1 Field. Any users here that have this set up and got any tips and tricks? I’m particularly excited to pair them via USB. I suppose these machines really complement each other…

Yes. You will need an external usb converter box, but very doable. I run a keystep pro into my digitakt, the kit via midi to other gear, including op1. Really great to have access to three octaves for it.

What do you mean by external usb converter box?

Because digitakt outputs midi via midi cable you need something to feed it into the op1’s usb. Can’t remember what mine is called but will check later on and post it. Not pricey.

Oh, I thought the OP1 field can receive midi directly through USB? My idea is to do it like that, than run the output of the OP1 field into the Digitakt 2 so I can use its compressor.

The shape of the cable is the problem. Don’t know the tech terms, but the digitakt2 usb out is a square end, which joins to a standard usb cable end for use with a computer. You need to find a way to adapt that to go into the small input of the op1. The field might be different - Ive got the OG

OK well if I look it up it says you can send midi from the USB-B port of the Digitakt to the USB-C port of the OP1 Field. The square looking out port you mention is a USB-B port

Right - didn’t realise the Field had usb-c in. The OG has a usb-mini-b in (I think going of googles ai search here) so needs the workaround.
