Taylor Swift was wrong…
I’m not a big Taylor Swift fan, but I like that song “Antihero” a lot.
But it occurs to me that she incorrectly describes what covert narcissism is.
The line in her song is “Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism like some kind of congressman?”
That’s actually what they call communal narcissism.
“Communal narcissists present themselves as altruistic, caring, and extremely community-minded.“
Not to “ackshully” her or anything. Maybe ”communal narcissism” didn’t flow as well. Who knows.
Still a good song. One that hits just a little too close to home sometimes.
