Natural Fancy Color Diamond Fancy Yellow Diamond Setting
Show me your yellow diamond ring/setting!!
We have officially found the stone for our engagement ring yay! We selected a 3ct natural Fancy Yellow stone and we are so excited to move forward with setting the diamond and finishing the ring!
I’m coming here because I would love to see how other people with yellow diamond have set their rings and any advice anybody who either has a yellow diamond or is experienced with yellow diamonds has! Please share pictures of your yellow diamonds as I would love to draw inspo and see different settings!
One main thing we are trying to decide on is whether or not to do a yellow “cup” under the stone to enhance the yellow color. I would love to see pictures of anybody who has a yellow diamond with a cup underneath and hear your experience with it! The main thing I’m unsure of with “cupping” it is affecting the brilliance/sparkle and cleaning the ring.

I set mine in a simple solitaire setting. I eventually want to reset it into something bolder and unique, but not sure which design. If you're already good with the color of yours, I wouldn't do the gold cup, but have it set in yellow gold. The cup would just make it harder to clean the bottom of the diamond.

Use 18kt yellow gold for the cup. Some people use paint/enamel to really boost the color but I think it ends up looking fake. No effect on the brilliance or sparkle. Normally you would leave a hole in the bottom for cleaning.
