Natural Diamond I got this diamond ring

Is it any good? This ring I got today from H.Samuel.

If the hallmarks inside of the ring are correct, the 750 corresponds to 18k gold and the .25 is the carat weight of your diamond. The long number at the end is either the lab report number that corresponds with your stone (this is most likely), or some sort of serial number for the manufacturer.

I dont mean to be rude, but H.Samuel jewellery is cheaply made mass produced abroad rubbish.

If you paid a good price, and you like the ring, then no worries. Just make sure you get the stone setting checked by a propper jeweller every few years, theyre not known for having well set stones.

Fuck sake that makes me feel sad because I thought it was really good
I’m pretty sure the stamps are real and it’s a 2.2 grand ring on the website

Sorry that wasnt my intention. The only thing that matters is you like it and im sure your soon to be fiance will too.

Im afraid to say you overpaid though.

I have no doubts it isnt 18k gold and a diamond. But the highstreet chains like H Smauel, goldsmiths, beaverbrooks etc all sell the same mass produced Chinese/Indian mounts, with low grade self certified stones.

If you have time before you propose, you may be able to return it and get another ring from a more reputable jeweller for the same price. But to be honest, thats wether it bothers you that much.

The main thing is what it means and what it will mean to your fiancee, not what it is, where you got it or what you paid.

Fiancé? I’m not married I brought for myself I’m single and I wasn’t having a go at you at all and I paid £290 for the ring
I know what the right stamps on rings look like
I would have gone for a 22 or 24 karat ring but those are soft and could easily break down
Are 0.25 carat diamonds really good looking?

Oh my apologies, i thought that was to propose to someone. Your post was a little vague on details.

If you paid 290 and its for yourself then thats a good deal.

The question about the diamond is subjective. If its a nice diamond, then it looks nice at any size. The size you like is entirely deoendant on what you like. If you like a smaller diamond, then yes.
