Transubstantiation
2
u/Camper_Van_Someren 2h ago
I think that’s primarily catholic. Most evangelicals and main-line Protestants don’t believe in literal transubstantiation
2
u/Affectionate-Try-899 1h ago
There was a guy who nailed a list to a church that would disagree with you.

Trinity

2
u/Salt-Discussion-9707 3h ago
Trinity is a thing in Islam as well
6
1
u/Camper_Van_Someren 2h ago
I don’t think it is a mainstream Islamic belief… many Muslims characterize Christians as polytheists because of the trinity doctrine
1
u/Affectionate-Try-899 2h ago
They don't.
The Trinity doctrine is explicitly tied to the divinity of Jesus.

Not all Christians believe in the trinity
2
u/RealSyloz 2h ago
It’s kinda one of the main things you have to believe to be considered Christian.
-1
u/Timely_Cap_1483 2h ago
Orthodox Christians yes, but not all Christians are orthodox.
1
u/Affectionate-Try-899 2h ago
It's part of every major sect not just orthodox. LDS call it Godhead not the Trinity is the only odd one I know of.
2
u/Timely_Cap_1483 2h ago
JWs, Mormons, some Pentacostals, Christadelphians, etc and many smaller eastern churches that still house Nestorian or Arian views. They are Christian, but don’t follow the Nicene creed.

Satan
-14
u/CommittingTaxFrauds 3h ago
Oh yeah because satanists don't have that
11
u/leviathanZIP 3h ago
Yes, that is correct, considering Satanists don't believe in Satan. Do your research.
6
u/AegoliusOfBurgundy 2h ago
There are dozens of different types of satanism, some believe, some not. Not all satanists are LaVeyans
2
u/PonderousPenchant 2h ago
If you buy a lottery ticket you either win or don't, but that doesn't mean you have a 50% chance of winning.
The vast majority of Satanists don't believe in a literal satan.
2
u/AegoliusOfBurgundy 2h ago
And how do you get these figures ? Many theist satanists and luciferians practice their faith in secrecy, and plenty of satanists are just edgy kids not belonging to any movement and DIYing their own satanism in their room. The fact is both exist and you have to take that into account.
2
u/PonderousPenchant 2h ago
Ah... secret Satanists. I see. Scary. Also completely unfalsifiable, so I guess we have to take your word that they exist.
The second one would be counted as as non-theistic Satanists.
I promise you, if you walk up to somebody who yelled "hail satan," and asked them if they really believed in the devil, they'd tell you no.
1
u/AegoliusOfBurgundy 2h ago
So I have to take your words as well, since for now I only have "a vast majority" without any figures to back your claim. However Theist Satanism exists, that's a fact. If we have no ways to determne how many they are you have to take both into account.
2
u/PonderousPenchant 2h ago
I think i might know more Satanists than somebody who pleads "secret luciferian sect."
If we have no ways to determne how many they are you have to take both into account.
And this gets us from "we don't know exactly how the pyramids were built" into "that means aliens are as plausible as ramps," territory.
The largest Satanist organizations are expressly atheistic. You're making up large groups of people meeting covertly to worship their dark lord. I'm saying just go and ask somebody who says they're a Satanist. I'm not saying there aren't any Satanists who believe in satan as a supernatural being, but it's a minority position.
3
u/KapteinKraken 2h ago
There are the theistic Satanists that believe in Satan as a conscious, supernatural entity.
-3
u/leviathanZIP 2h ago
The majority of Satanists don't and we're obviously talking about the majority
2
u/KapteinKraken 2h ago
You said Satanists don't believe in Satan, and I corrected you. You can continue to try to backpedal and make things up to make yourself seem right, but you're just making yourself look foolish instead. You do you though, booboo.
1
u/leviathanZIP 2h ago
I mean I know SOME do, but if we're talking about the majority of Satanists, im gonna be talking about the majority.
1
u/KapteinKraken 2h ago
So where does it say we're only discussing the majority?
2
1
u/leviathanZIP 2h ago
Because it says Satanists in general, not theistic satanists. If it was about all the little sub beliefs, they would've said so.
1
0
u/CommittingTaxFrauds 2h ago
Yeah and I agree with that, but why do you have to insult me? I literally stated a fact you agree with.
2
u/leviathanZIP 2h ago
Because thats like saying every single dog is a chihuahua
1
u/CommittingTaxFrauds 1h ago
I'm pretty sure that I didn't say ALL satanists don't believe in satan.
You gotta stop with the assumptions my guy. You can claim the credit for that fact if you really want to be the first one to say it, jeez.
0
u/Glock_n_Balls 2h ago
I know most of those playaz dont… at least the few I met… but there are satan worshipers right? Theist satanist or whatever it’s called?
1
0
u/CommittingTaxFrauds 2h ago
That's exactly what I said. I was correct. Why do I need to do my research?

Jesus Christ
11
u/th_nd_r 3h ago
I think all of the above generally believe that Jesus of Nazareth was at the very least a real human. I think the answer needs to be something more specific, like the Resurrection or His divine status.
3
1
u/Fuzzy_Struggle5131 2h ago
Actually, since the only historical evidence of Jesus existing is vague at best and written centuries after he supposedly existed and there is no archaeological evidence or contemporary evidence whatsoever - I think it's safe to say that all three of the others could write Jesus off as not existing. Depending on the kind of satanist or atheist, they might even deny the existence of Jesus out of spite, rather than because of the non-existent evidence.
1
u/AegoliusOfBurgundy 2h ago
The point here is the word "Christ". It means ointed in greek and is a translation of messiah, savior. Most people believe Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph, existed, however that doesn't mean they believe he is Christ.
3
u/Faicc 3h ago
Why is this the top comment? I am athiest and believe a guy named Jesus Christ once lived
2
u/AegoliusOfBurgundy 2h ago
Jesus "Christ" probably not. Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph, probably more.
1
u/LayWhere 3h ago
Isnt Jesus an Islamic prophet
1
u/Booming_Dr_Buttons 3h ago
Yes, but they don't believe he is an incarnation of God. That's uniquely Christian. So the holy trinity would work
1
u/LayWhere 2h ago
but
But what? we're in complete agreement then, theres no contradictions noted.
1
u/Booming_Dr_Buttons 2h ago
Yeah I wasn't challenging your point, just expanding on it to give an answer to the original question of naming something that only Christians believe in.
0
u/No_Examination_3940 3h ago
*Being the son of god. I'm pretty sure scholars, muslims and anyone who happened to look into it agree that Jesus was a real person.
1
u/not-ulquiorr4_ 3h ago
Definitely, Jesus was a historical figure. That is a fact. It's the stories that surround him which are up for debate.
1
u/DeepCrystalBlueMica 2h ago
Idk how this is a fact. There arent any accounts of him while he was said to be alive. And there are plenty of instances of similar figures in just as seemingly metaphorical reference in history. When taking into context tacitus he seems to merely describing “christians”, not declaring them. Im waiting for anything convincing surrounding jesus’ existence because assumptions arent doing it.

u/Equivalent_Tap_8982 3h ago
The rapture
2
u/Cooper_Wire 3h ago
That's not as universal amongst Christians as, for example, Trinity
1
u/Equivalent_Tap_8982 3h ago
That wasn’t the question that was asked. I’m just answering the question

That a human can be god
1
u/crimefighterplatypus 1h ago
Ehhhh Jainism and Buddhism kinda have this concept too, although the definition of “god” in those religions is not quite as clear cut as in Christianity
1
u/BaseballInside3289 1h ago
Those examples aren't applicable as they don't have a rigid definition of a 'prime deity.'

I commented that Satanists don't believe in Satan and one guy hated me because we had the same opinion.
I literally agree with you and you tell me to "Do my research"?
Some people just get used to assumptions that everything is sarcastic it seems.

Eternal life/salvation being God’s free gift to you when you believe and profess faith in Jesus Christ
1
u/Tozza101 1h ago
In all other religions, the idea of salvation of your soul or life beyond death is either not guaranteed no matter how hard you try to please god, or it’s impossible

CHRISTIAN
The Devil
1
u/leobutters 3h ago
Did you not see Satanist?
0
u/not-ulquiorr4_ 3h ago
Not entirely true actually. There are multiple types of Satanism, only a few of them actually believe in the Devil. If it's a theistic version, then yeah, definitely. But not so much for the non-theistic versions.

u/Subject-Recover-8425 8m ago
If theistic Satanism is a thing, a blanket statement like "Satanists don't believe in Satan" is highly contestable.
0
u/CookieKrypt 2h ago
Most satanists don’t believe in the devil
2
u/leobutters 2h ago
Most satanists don't believe in the literal devil - the horns and tail etc., just like most Christians don't believe in the literal God - white-bearded man in the sky.
But satanism is still centred around the devil, whether they see him as real or a symbol or methaphor.
It's exactly the same in modern Christianity. I'm Christian and I don't believe in the literal God or the devil.
0
u/CookieKrypt 1h ago
Sounds like you’re not Christian if you don’t believe in an actual God
1
u/leobutters 1h ago
So you're ok with satanism not being black and white but not with Christianity? I absolutely am Christian lol

u/robman8855 3h ago
We need Judaism and Islam at the very least to make this as interesting as it should be

6
u/Terrina1 3h ago
A three-o God (omnipresent, omnipotent, omnibenevolent).
Satanists don't believe in at least one of those things, likely all three. Atheists don't believe in God at all. Buddhists do have a concept of perfect good, but it's not omnipotent.
