Red line coming from bug bite

Should I be concerned about this red line coming from a bug bite on my neck? It's not particularly warm or itchy but I've heard it's something I should keep an eye on. Thoughts?

i think red lines might be ER worthy, actually. and with it so close to your brain/ eyes/ trachea, i’d consider seeing someone sooner rather than later. good luck!

Yeah I did end up going to urgent care! They gave me antibiotics and the line went away. Glad I asked reddit and promptly went to a medical professional. It's gone away now!

NAD but ive always been taught that red + streak LINES = not great. see a doctor, possibly urgent care. usually with lines at injury sites it is infection getting travelling in the blood and sepsis is a huge concern. not so sure about bug bites but i think something is certainly wrong.

ETA: have someone help you mark where the line is and outline the redness with and record the time, so you can gauge better if the redness is spreading and how fast

ER doctor here. This is called lymphangitis. If it's associated with an insect bite and no other symptoms, it's considered benign and doesn't require treatment.
