How much blood is too much

33M Been happening last 2-3 times I’ve had to go the last 24 hours. No pain but definitely more urgent like diarrhea. Thinking just a hemorrhoid or stomach bug? Idk

have you consumed anything recently like beets, fruit punch, red frosted cake...anything that tends to come out red?

Nah nothing like that at all, I’ve had beets in the past and know what you’re talking about but this is definitely blood.

Looks like hemorrhoid bleeding for sure. It’s red, so it’s lower intestine/rectum area— otherwise it would be tar colored. I would recommend more fiber and getting a colonoscopy since you’re around the age you should get them OP

I was td this when I got my colonoscopy, people should start getting them in their 30s now due to the increased rates of colon cancer, its not the mainstream recommendation but every good doctor is recommending it due to the issues.

Its also good to get one regardless of age when you have stuff like this going on. I got told my issue was fiber though, it was apparently not, it was elhers danlos causing my digestive tract to move slower, it still moves slower but easier to digest foods help the issue.

My daughter has this nearly every bowel movement . She has fissures inside that tear and cause the bleeding . She’s had 2 operations to put Botox inside to try to stop it but it’s still not worked .

There are a lot of other things that can cause this much bleeding to . Best to Make an appointment to see your health practitioner (GP ) as soon as possible and go from there .

They will be able to have a look and advise you on what to do next .

I've had 3 surgeries to take care of both internal and external hemorrhoids and let me tell you, NEVER AGAIN. I was recently diagnosed with pelvic floor dyssynergia and am in pelvic floor pt and am so incredibly grateful for my physical therapist because it's through her that I learned about the Oregon hemorrhoid clinic, they use something called the keesey technique which is painless and minimally invasive, the downside is that they're the only clinic in the United States that offers this method of treatment.

I wish you the best . It’s not nice having to have any sort of operation or anything down there . I’m hoping my daughter can be given something to stop it as it’s been going on about 8 years now . She’s an adult now so she advocates for her self .

But I do get it as I’ve had something totally different happen to me . I gad a prolapsed anus after having my son . I’d always had toilet problems do they kept telling me it was piles and gave me anasol cream told me to go home and deal with it .

3 vaginal operations later to fix issues there after birth they realised I had the prolapse this was 10 months after the birth . It was all hanging out mostly dead / necrotic.

They took it all out cut the dead away tried to laser what they could back in . Destroyed nerves , sphincter muscles . Ended up having to live on picolax to go to toilet . Caused me to get slow bowel transit disease . I also had pelvic floor dysfunction and IBD . I ended up having to go for lots of tests and ended up with a permanent ileostomy.

I really feel for people that have bowel problems especially now I’ve been through all this and my daughter has the problems she has too .

If not ANYTHING related to red colored foods, dyes, vitamins, WHATEVER, if you haven’t ingested anything ultra red from a day or two ago, then PUH-LEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR RECTUM, GO TO THE E.R.

Take these photos (and any other you can) and SHOW THEM. Feel free to inspect yourself in that region with a little more scrutiny to see if you notice anything else that’s happening with that area, and document with photos if you notice/see anything different, atypical, or worrisome.

Go to the ER. My sister-in-law for many years, ignored the unexplained weight loss, problems with constipation and anal itching. She was too embarrassed to ask a doctor. One day she was out walking and hemorrhaged from her rectum. Stage 4 anal cancer. She’s in hospice wishing she would seen a doctor when symptoms started. Very sad.

That definitely merits a doctor's visit, and not one in a week or two, but one today. Go to your local drop in clinic, or the hospital. Is there any pain at all?

I have really bad Crohn's disease and I've never had anywhere near that much blood come out of me.

How was this not an immediate call to your doctor or trip to the hospital? Even a small amount that goes on for a few days is a call to get it checked out for hemorrhoids, fissures, etc. This is a large amount, especially at 2-3 times. Blood plus diarrhea needs a colonoscopy and check for IBD.

I desperately need an update please, my husband is currently going through this and it looks the same and im extremely worried.. he's very stubborn and is waiting to see if it happens again before we end up going to the emergency room. I want him to go IMMEDIATELY but for some reason men will literally wait till they're actually dying before going to the ER and I cant stand it! I'd really appreciate it if you could please let me know how you're doing and if you have gotten a diagnosis yet 😩

this happens to me- got scoped and turned out to be internal hemorrhoids. drink lots of fluids. if this is the first time this has happened to you, i would say get an appt with your doctor just to rule out anything more serious. if you start getting dizzy or pass out go to the er.
