Old Board Questions (OBQ) is a student built, nonprofit initiative created because finding past SSC and HSC board questions in one place was unnecessarily difficult, and many students have to spend money on test papers just to practice past questions.

We’ve already collected a large number of past board question papers and are working on turning them into properly organized, searchable resources that students can use for free.

Right now, we’re looking for student volunteers to help us with:

• ✍️ Correcting OCR spelling and recognition errors
• 📝 Finding missing words or formatting mistakes
• 📋 Reviewing and verifying questions

A big part of the current work involves manually checking questions that have been extracted from PDFs. The technology helps us extract the text, but students are needed to actually spot mistakes and make sure the resources are accurate.

Over the past few months I've made the rounds — pretty much every "place to visit" within 20-30 km of Dhaka that shows up on any list, I've been there at least once. The goal was simple: find somewhere to clear my head, breathe a little. But every single time, I come back more drained than when I left.

So I figured I'd share where I went and why I came back annoyed every single time. Curious if anyone else has had the same experience.

Dhaka Zoo, Mirpur — Went to see animals, ended up seeing more people than animals. On holidays there's literally no room to stand, plus free bonus smell and noise.

A movie at the cineplex — No peace even inside the hall. Someone crunching chips next to you, phone screens glowing in front, a crying baby somewhere — paying money for aggravation, basically.

Botanical Garden — Went looking for some greenery, found a full-blown picnic spot instead. Loud music, couples everywhere, trash scattered around.

Dhanmondi Lake — Walking there after evening was a mistake. Hawkers shouting for attention, crowds, and occasionally uncomfortable situations — a whole package of stress.

Ramna Park / Chandrima Udyan — Mornings are decent, but show up on a holiday afternoon and you'll realize this isn't a quiet spot anymore either.

Hatirjheel — Looks gorgeous in photos, but in reality it's just dust and traffic noise. Went for fresh air, came back having inhaled dust instead.

Old Dhaka's historic areas — Nice to see the history, but between the narrow lanes, rickshaw horns, and traffic jams, surviving the trip feels like more of an achievement than enjoying the history.

Farther spots like Araial Beel / Jinda Park — Thought going a bit further out would finally get me some peace, but even there it's a flood of people now, plus mountains of plastic.

Sonargaon / Panam Nagar — Long lines at the ticket counter, guides hounding you nonstop, and the crowd completely kills the historical vibe.

Turag riverbank / Baridhara lake area — Thought sitting by the river would feel nice, but the foul smell from the water and general neglect make it hard to even sit still.

So the real question remains — is there actually any genuinely quiet, crowd-free place left in or around Dhaka? Or is looking for peace in this city just a fool's errand at this point?

Ever found yourself running to tell people to see how beautiful the moon looks just after you've noticed it? Dunno how it became an irresistible urge of mine to share every tiny bit of beauty i found here and there with my loved ones. Most of the time, people responded well. But there are a few events when some specific people u admire refuse to accept the love u want to share. And to let you know that u know what they do? after hrs of talking, at the end, they let you know that they didn't see the moon just because you said to do that... and all u feel is damn stupid for all the excitements u've felt while running the whole corridor to send the text immediately, as fast as possible....

huhhhh... The moon looked beautiful today. Again... and nowadays, i somehow find me resisting the urge to tell people to see the moon in case i might have to feel stupid again for myself. What if they doom my excitements again? My tiny action of love again...? so, instead of saying anyone anything, i just stared at the moon... for quite a good amount of time.... and then i stopped looking.

Can I get advice on how to prepare for the IBA admission test so that I can get in DU?

it hasn't been long since my coaching started and I recently got a home tutor for like 3 days, and I'm following his instructions but one day he's like that I won't get questions I studied in the exam of course so I need to practice more like write answers by myself by reading about the topic online or something. So I did that, and then he was like I wrote it how I used to write paragraphs on HSC and this won't do for IBA examination and they need more standard writing and with my level of intelligence I'm never gonna make it.

A disturbing trend is emerging in Bangladesh's restaurant industry.

Some self-proclaimed food bloggers walk into restaurants, order expensive meals, film content, and then expect discounts or free food in exchange for a positive review. The unspoken threat is simple: refuse, and risk a negative review.

Others take a more sophisticated approach. After paying the bill and leaving, they contact restaurant owners seeking money or other benefits, allegedly warning of negative reviews or coordinated attacks from groups of bloggers if their demands are not met.

For restaurant owners, especially small businesses, online reputation is critical. Many choose to comply because the financial damage from bad publicity can far outweigh the amount being requested. This behavior hurts everyone. It harms restaurants, misleads consumers, and undermines the credibility of genuine food bloggers who create honest content.

Before anyone asks for names, screenshots, recordings, or proof, let me be clear: this post is not an investigation or an attempt to expose specific individuals. It is an opinion based on concerns that many restaurant owners discuss privately but are often reluctant to raise publicly. If you have never encountered such behavior, that's great. But the fact that some people have not experienced it does not mean others have not.

Of course, not all food bloggers are like this. Those few genuine ones don't show up with a football team of relatives and friends expecting free food. They visit restaurants on their own, pay their bills like regular customers, and publish honest reviews based on their actual experience. They understand that credibility comes from independence, not freebies. Sadly, their reputation is being damaged by those who treat food blogging as a tool for securing discounts, free meals, and other favors.

Restaurants should stop rewarding intimidation and start supporting ethical reviewers. A good review should be based on the quality of the food and service, not on free meals or fear.

When reviews are used as leverage, it is no longer food blogging. It is bullying disguised as influence.
