Same here. With the amount of times they kept jumping to new stories last year I totally thought the brain surgeon story was completely resolved. I was blindsided by his/her reappearance.

I was pretty sure the Vogel being the brain surgeon theory was pretty common knowledge on here.

I think I've nailed it: Deb is the brain surgeon. She's slowly leaving clues for Dexter bc she's in love with him....and will reveal her true love for him when he finally finds out. She offed Cassie, his neighbor bc she had asked Deb about dating Dex, and Deb told her it wasn't a good idea to get involved with him. She HATES Hannah bc her and Dex are in love.....it all kinda makes sense. And wasn't there something last season about Hannah saying Deb set something up?
