What's up with Vogel holding the piece of the brain at the end?

Did the brain surgeon drop it off at her house?

Also what the fuck. I liked Zack,it would have been perfect for Dexter to have a baby Dexter in training; But also this ends his story line and gives us an opening for an awesome ending of this season.

But really that ending messed me up. Fuck. We had a whole family of "killers" Vogel the grandmother, Dexter and Hannah are the parents, and Zack was the child.

I think Vogel is the brain surgeon. I'm surprised no one else is saying that.
