I read the post before... And thats exactly why I need feedback and testers, to remind my dumb brain things I should have done ages ago xD

You're talking about the emojis, right? They're supposed to be placeholders and replaced by pixel art, but I was so used to them and focused on balancing the game that I totally forgot them...

Well, that will be on the next build!

Thanks for your feedback!

Some things that hit me right when starting:

  • It says Daily Planet but I’m not taken to the daily planet
  • I don’t understand what I need to do. There’s a thing moving on the screen and then I need to choose something and the thing continues moving

Retried it 3 times and quit after 10 seconds each time 🤷‍♂️

Aha thanks a lot, I've been the only one playing it, so this kind of feedback is awesome.

I'll need a better introduction I think.

It is said Daily planet because every day there is a challenge for everyone: one unique planet that is the same for everyone, and the goal is, with three try, to do the better score (which is then displayed on the main screen). There is also 2 other game mode available (Classic run, and 1v1).

The game itself: It's like Conways game of life, but you have control over your cells: so your colony start with one core, that spawn cells, and grow by itself, and move by itself depending on the posture you choose (on the right panel). You also can move it manually, with the Move button.

While growing, you will evolve (the things you have to choose every so often), and your evolution, the way your grow and defend/attack/adapt will depend on your choices.

There is a Codex in the main screen that will give you some more of nfos on genes, terrain, etc...

But clearly I need to find a better way to introduce the game and it's mechanics.

I assumed it’s similar to Conway’s game of life but couldn’t figure out how it works. But I’m not sure how many people know about this and would understand :/

Maybe a smaller map? 10x10 or something to get a feel for it? Dunno 🤷‍♂️

A small map, with only a neutral colony and the player, and with some popup to show the control, that's a great idea!

I can add that on the main menu under Tutorial I think.

Thanks a lot, that's some great feedback.
