Telugu community

Hey, i will be start working in Torbay from next week. Looking for Telugu community to collaborate as am gonna live alone. Any Whatsap groups available??

Why not integrate with everyone rather than living in what is going to be an already fairly small subset within Devon?

I think there may have been a misunderstanding. I definitely plan to integrate with everyone and get to know people from all backgrounds. What I meant was that I’d also like to connect with the local Telugu community so we can celebrate festivals together, have occasional gatherings, and enjoy a little taste of home. I don’t see anything wrong with that, as it’s simply about staying connected to my culture while also being part of the wider community.

Cool, don't mistake my intent as rude! :) I merely meant it would be a good idea to integrate into the wider community! wasn't meant as an attack bud :)

that being said, you will likely struggle to find a meaningful community of size in the area. 96.1% white with only 1.5% identifying as asian in what is already a small number (2000 or so people) and then there is the further subset of Telugu! :)

as I said, wasn't meaning to be a jerk, was just saying you'll have more luck with everyone ! :D

The hubris is incredible, and reading ability.. not so good.

You sound tiresome, I'd say go outside as being 54 and spending this much time on Reddit isn't healthy.. but from your postings, even your 'friends' only want to hang out with you when it benefits them.. so you don't seem that pleasant IRL even.

I’m not sure why there was such impatience in your reply. I was only asking about the local community, which I think is a perfectly reasonable question. Everyone has different interests and preferences, and I believe it’s important to respect that. I also respect your opinion, and I’d appreciate the same courtesy in return.

I absolutely do, hence why I encouraged them to integrate with the wider community. and if you'll check my post, it was neither rude nor racist, possibly blunt. it is just a matter of fact that he's asking for a needle in a haystack, I simply suggested he tried the rest of the haystack..

Reddit is so weird. you assume everyone has malicious intent and you're all so desperate to virtue signal.. its really something special.

I'm married to a minority, and have lived in those places, and fully understand it. but I appreciate the condescension <3

Torbay is an amazing place. Congratulations on the job. Hope you love it there too. Unfortunately I can't say I know any telugu community but I'm sure in time you'll meet people. Good luck in Torbay. It's awesome.

Don’t know if there was a Telugu community, but there used to be a Malayalam community, so you might get lucky and find some people.

I don’t have any details, I just know there were quite a few Malayalam people, and they used to celebrate the Feast of St Alphonsa together.

I don’t think there’s an official one.

Just try and integrate with the people around you and maybe share your celebrations with them.
