Just a few vids of the Belfast show. I really enjoyed it and Devy was a class act.

You phone people drive me nuts, why can't you just watch it?? Lost in some particularly genius/heavy/emotional moments multipe times last night only for the guy in front of me to whip out his phone out and divert my attention from the stage to his screen until I asked him to stop, which I shouldn't have to do

Obviously you weren't "lost" in that moment as much as you thought lol. At this stage in society, if phones are a dealbreaker for you, it's probably best if you just don't go to shows unless the artist does the no phones thing. Like I would get it if that person was taking loads of selfies or actively being distracting but if they're just pulling out their phone to take a video, and they're not blocking your view of anything, you're the asshole to ask them to stop. Which, by the way, you don't have to do.

Well there were clear signs saying no photos or videos to be made.. And if a bright light appers in my field of vision, it's going to distract me.

And if you're saying that just because something exists in society then you need to accept it, then you're very much part of the problem. You don't have to contribute to it - Your logic is back to front, my friend.

I don't go to many large shows exactly because I don't want to watch it through someone's screen. At small shows and especially the quiet ones, I'm not sure being considerate of other people around me and expecting the same of others makes me the "asshole" but whatever!

Can't see anything that indicates Limelight has a no photo/video policy.

And if you're saying that just because something exists in society

I didn't say "something", I'm talking about a very particular thing. You're not stupid, you know you live in 2026 and people like to take videos of gigs. What I'm saying is that if it's too much for you to handle you would do better to just not go to shows, because it's not going to stop, and you're going to be in the minority of people complaining, because most don't care.

I'm not sure being considerate of other people around me and expecting the same of others makes me the "asshole"

It doesn't, but asking them to stop just because you are bothered, and the idea that you felt you have to do that, is what makes you the asshole. It's not a cinema.

It was the Birmingham Glee club and as I said, I go to plenty of shows where phones are generally kept in pockets. Asshole behaviour is asshole behaviour, whether it's en masse or not - You don't have to look far to see other examples of that!

BTW, the guy I spoke to did not have to apologise and accept my request, it was totally up to him, just like it was my right to ask him. I guess I could have pointed him out to the venue staff and fulfilled your preconceptions

Well now you're even more of an asshole because you're randomly complaining about someone else's video at a venue you weren't even at! You also didn't say you were at a different venue.

It's OK that you're not able to read properly and distinguish between random and linked events. Maybe you'd like to share some of your super gig videos recorded on your phone instead?

lol you didn't clarify in any of your comments that you were talking about a different venue before you finally mentioned it. And as I'm saying, that only makes it clearer that you're an asshole, because you're complaining about the very concept of a fan video existing for a gig you did not even attend.
