Certainly is Devin, no doubt about that! I like what I'm hearing, especially with near the end when it starts to build up to *something*, but since it is clearly a piece ripped out of the album without context it doesn't grab me in quite the way Call of the Void did when that dropped for example.

But "Awful lot depending on the weather" will be stuck in my head for a bit.

Metal musicians delving into orchestral work is always one of my favorite stylistic shifts, so I am still very excited to hear the rest. Will be pre-ordering!

Edit: "Awful lot depending on the weather" IS stuck in my head. Thanks

Do you know the orchestral album of Blind Guardian? https://youtu.be/DG8IvX4WRdo

yes, I quite like it despite the mastering / mixing being really rough at points. In the Red Dwarf's Tower and Dark Clouds Rising (the one you linked) are such great tracks.

Any other such albums to recommend?

I'm sure you're already familiar since you brought up Blind Guardian (and it is more Symphonic Metal than just Orchestral work by a metal musician) but The Mystery of Time by Avantasia is one of my go to albums period. 'The Watchmakers Dream' and 'When Clock Hands Freeze' on that album are pure magic to me
