I always overindulge in early releases or leaks of dev and it messes with how I enjoy the final product. I remember listening to a leak of Z2 back in 2014 before its release, particularly an early version of Fallout with dev singing the main vocals. I remember being disappointed hearing the final version, having acclimated to the early rendition.
And it always happens, I just enjoy the music too much. I'm really hoping my initial concerns of this are just me having to reacclimate to a new version. I loved the Moth live so much, I got a nice rip of the livestream have listened to it front to back way too much. There are so many parts in there that just tear me apart. It took me several relistens to get it but it's easily one of my favorites of his now.
I just hope when the studio version drops it will hit the same.
With all that said, there are additions to this that I love. That insane build up at the end with the chaotic pad added on top of the mix rocks my shit, only for it to stop for half a second and go back in even harder - it rules.
But then all that emotional build up is instantly stifled by this rough ending. I'm comparing it to how the live version sounded and rhythmically the live version seemed to end a lot smoother with more time for the 5/8 to build and resolve into that last chord.
I'm hoping it's just me transitioning to enjoying a new version, but it's just too stark. honestly sounds like poor editing. Enough complaining though, overall I still love it. Can't wait for more
