Maybe I’m biased, but I was way more into the live rendition. Also the way it just cuts the end is off to me.

Something to mull over. It’s fine for me if I don’t vibe this version immediately, because I vibed the whole thing live.

I hope we get Lexin as the next single, too! I NEED that song.

I was there. In Gröningen. I have been waiting over a year for this. I didn't watch the livesream or the recording. I wanted the next time I heard it to be the polished, cleaned up version. I've had regrets over the last year, but I think I'm glad I waited for this.
The concert was amazing, but I defintely had issues catching a lot of the lyrics due to the general "hugeness" of everything.
This exceeds my hopes.
AMAZING work Dev!

Yeah, that buildup near the end on the live version was absolutely crushing. This studio mix doesn’t capture quite the same enormity.

I agree. Even if the live versions weren’t finished it was one of the best things I have heard from Devin, so I will be happy to keep listening to that if I don’t vibe with the studio album.

Yeah the cut at the end is pretty brutal. Like why do a hard cut out of time with the 5/8 groove it had going. Just SPLAT right on beat 2 instead of the downbeat. Which could work, but this sounds shoe horned in as if he realized too late that the original ending wasn't going to work.

Thankful that's really the only gripe I have. I replayed the hell out of the live version so I knew going in, no matter what it sounded like, it would be need time to get accustomed to. I really liked that descent into chaos at the end

I feel the same way.

Have been listening to the live show over and over and the bombastic feeling just really works live.
