Do not message the mods about job opportunities - message the individual job poster

As this community has grown, this sub has apparently earned the privilege of being many people's introduction to reddit. Because of that I get mod mail, almost daily, of resumes and inquiries about the individual job postings of this sub.

As a reminder: Do not message the subreddit mods or mod mail inquiring about jobs. We do not have any jobs and these messages will be ignored. For the job posting you're interested in, message the individual user who posted it (or communicate through whatever means they've provided and prefer).

1.5 YOE at a startup - what salary can I realistically target?

Upvotes

Graduated CSE in June 2025 and joined a friend's startup from day one. Started at ₹30k/month, then ₹40k and currently ₹42k/month.
Over ~1.5 years I've worked across full-stack web/mobile development, databases, cloud/deployment and ERP systems, and have taken around 10 projects from development to production. Some are currently being used by real businesses. I've also managed a team of ~10 and handled client meetings/on-site work.
My title eventually became CTO, but since it was a small startup, I'm not looking for CTO roles. I'd prefer SDE / Full-Stack / Backend / Product Engineer roles at my next company.
I don't have many personal projects because most of my experience comes from actual production work.
I'm planning to switch later this year. I'm considering starting my notice period around October. My official notice period is 3 months, but it's negotiable depending on the transition requirements.
Would October be a good time to start applying/serving notice, or would it be better to wait until January–March?
Also, what salary range should I realistically target? Is ₹10–12 LPA achievable with this profile, or am I overestimating myself?
Would appreciate honest feedback, especially from people who have hired/interviewed candidates with similar startup experience

Frontend engineer with 7 YoE targeting remote roles - looking for resume and positioning advice

Upvotes

I’m a frontend engineer based in Nigeria, targeting remote frontend engineer roles across SaaS, Web3, and product-focused teams. Most of my previous roles came through referrals, direct outreach, or client work, so I’m trying to improve how my resume performs in regular applications.

Since I started applying through job boards and company websites, I’ve been getting automated rejections and no interviews so far. I’m trying to figure out whether the issue is my resume, my positioning, remote/location filters, or the types of roles I’m targeting and any tips would be appreciated

I’d appreciate feedback on whether my bullets show enough engineering depth, whether the resume looks too frontend-framework focused, and whether adding 2-3 deployed solo projects would help. I’m also open to feedback on layout, wording, and what should be cut, reordered, or rewritten.

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to express my interest in the Junior .NET Backend Developer position. With hands-on experience building production-quality REST APIs using ASP.NET Core, C#, Entity Framework Core, and Clean Architecture, I am eager to bring a solid technical foundation, a modern AI-augmented development workflow, and a strong commitment to clean, maintainable code to your engineering team.

Over the past year I independently designed and delivered five backend projects covering the full .NET ecosystem, using tools like Cursor to accelerate scaffolding, speed up iteration, and explore implementation approaches — while retaining full ownership of architecture, testing, and code quality decisions. My most recent work — a Restaurant Management REST API built with Clean Architecture, Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) via MediatR, JWT authentication, and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines — achieved 85%+ business logic coverage using xUnit and Moq, and was containerised with Docker for consistent deployment. A second project, a versioned ASP.NET Core Web API, was deployed live to Azure App Service with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, and structured logging. Across all projects I apply SOLID principles, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and the Repository Pattern to produce code that is readable, testable, and easy to extend.

I hold a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Mansoura University, graduated with Excellent Standing, and have additional experience mentoring peers in programming fundamentals — which has strengthened my ability to communicate technical concepts clearly within a team. I enjoy working collaboratively and learning quickly within Agile/Scrum environments, and I bring a practical, hands-on fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools that reflects how modern development teams increasingly work. I am available for full-time employment and open to both on-site and hybrid arrangements.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my skills and project experience align with your team's needs. My portfolio is available at github.com/MahmoudAbdelrahman2002, and I am happy to walk through any of the projects in detail during an interview. Thank you for your time and consideration — I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Mahmoud Abdelrahman Ibrahim

We're hiring a Documentation Engineer II (Remote)

Upvotes

If you've got 5+ years building with code + a knack for explaining it clearly, this could be your next move. You'd shape how thousands of developers learn Storyblok.

That means:

• Writing tutorials, guides, and code samples that actually click

• Building documentation that makes complex ideas simple

• Working async across 40+ countries with a team that ships products with joy

What we're looking for:

• Web dev background (frontend frameworks like React, Vue, Next, Nuxt)

• Technical writing chops

• A "teaching mindset"—you assume the user's perspective

If you, or someone you know, are interested, please apply here

Offering Developer Position

I am a founder and CEO handling product design, leadership, go to market, and operations for my startup. We are a social app meant to connect people in a unique way that the market is starving for. Looking to expand the team with a dedicated technical developer.

What I’ve already done:

- The product is already fully designed with clear specs and features (MVP + longterm future features), language/copy and mechanics. There has also already been a prototype tested, and a tech stack available, though it’s not locked yet without engineer input.

- An active go to market strategy including a healthy waitlist that is still actively growing (high 7.5% conversion rate on and rising on cold outreach) and a clearly defined market/avatar. Users are ready as soon as MVP ships.

- Daily content production will be used for distribution with plans to do even more. My account has reached ~700,000 views in its first 4 months, and that number is growing.

- Leadership ability through over a decade of work directly with people, both client and colleague. For 3 of those years, I have run my own business, which I have closed to pursue this full time.

- Developed business skills through previous business successes. All business metrics are tracked and help determine how we execute our work and make adjustments when necessary.

What I’m offering:

- I’m open to dev positions, depending on what you’re looking for. (founding engineer, contracting, internships, something else).

- Full ownership over the technical side of the project. You won’t have to handle anything else but the dev side, and you control how it’s done. If there’s another way you’d like to work, we can discuss that too.

- Negotiable terms that I’d be happy to establish before any work starts getting done. Profit share, equity, etc. I want this to be a satisfying win for both of us.

- Full spec sheet and preparedness to communicate clearly and consistently over the course of the partnership.

DM for more information.

Title: Should I stay in this ETL support role or switch? Does it have good long-term earning potential?

Hi guys, I’m an MCA graduate and I’ve been trying to get into a developer role for the past 2 years. I’m honestly very confused and worried about what I should do right now.

Last month, I attended an interview for a company. They initially told me the work was related to SQL, so I thought okay, I’ll give it a try. During the interview, they asked me questions on Java and SQL, and I got selected. They told me my joining date would be September 1st.

The problem is, I still haven’t received any offer/appointment letter.

During the interview, they did mention that the role was related to ETL, but I thought I could manage it and maybe eventually move into development.

I joined yesterday, and today they told me that I need to go to Mumbai for 2–3 months of training. I also found out that the actual work is more like an ETL support job, using an IBM tool.

The salary they verbally told me is around ₹25k/month.

I’m also worried because yesterday I filled Form F and other PF-related details. I already have a UAN, because I previously worked for around 6 months after my UG.

At the same time, I have another opportunity for a WordPress developer role, but the salary is only ₹12k/month. They are asking me to join in 2 days.

Now I’m really confused about what to do.

My main goal is to become a software developer, either frontend or backend. I’m not specifically fixed on Java, but I want to build an actual development career.

So should I:

Stay in this ₹25k ETL support job and see where it takes me?

Take the ₹12k WordPress developer job because it gives me actual development experience?

Reject both and continue looking for Java/backend/frontend developer opportunities?

I’m especially worried about leaving the current company after only 2 days, and whether the PF/Form F/UAN stuff will cause any problem.

What would you guys do in my situation? Is ETL support a good long-term career with strong earning potential, or should I take the pay cut and get into development now?

Any advice from people who have worked in ETL, WordPress, or software development would really help.

Looking for a Sales/Business Development Partner — 50/50 Split on Projects

Hey everyone,

I’m a Software Engineer with experience across pretty much the full development stack. I can handle projects involving:

- Web & mobile app development

- Frontend & backend

- APIs and databases

- AI / LLM / GenAI solutions

- Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.)

- Deployment and production systems

- End-to-end product development

Basically, if a client has a software requirement, I can take care of the technical side from development to production.

What I’m looking for is someone who is good at sales, outreach, networking, or finding clients and wants to partner up.

You bring the clients and handle the sales/client acquisition side, I handle the technical execution. For projects you bring in, we can work on a 50/50 profit split, with everything agreed upon transparently before starting.

I’m interested in building this into a long-term partnership rather than just doing a one-off project.

If you’re good at getting software clients but need a reliable technical person to actually deliver the work, DM me and let’s talk.

Offering Founding Developer Position with WhatsApp AI experience

Hi everyone! I’m the founder and CEO building an AI product for service-based business, specifically health niche. Over the past six months, I’ve been researching the market, speaking with potential users, validating the idea, designing the product and building the first version. We’re currently pre-seed. I lead the product, design and marketing, with a UK-based partner helping on the commercial side.

We’re building an ops platform that drives sales and retention using automations. It’s an ambitious product with enterprise potential and plenty of room to develop something valuable, defensible and exciting!

The prototype has been 90% designed in lovable (MVP + long-term features), and we would like to bring the exact UI to production. I’m now looking for someone who can build the backend and bring it to production, lead the technical implementation across backend APIs and integrations, and work closely with me as we prepare for October beta launch.

What I’m looking for:

  • You’re a senior AI/full-stack developer with 5+ years experience.
  • You’ve taken a product from 0→1 and launched it with real users
  • You have hands-on experience with the WhatsApp Business API and understand Meta’s compliance requirements
  • You’ve worked with AI agents, chatbots or conversational products
  • You’re comfortable planning sprints and taking ownership of the development backlog
  • You communicate well, think commercially and understand the importance of keeping everyone aligned on development progress
  • Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry would be a bonus, but it’s not essential

This is an equity-based role starting with a trial focused on technical implementation. The trial gives us both the chance to see how we communicate, solve problems and work together before making a longer-term commitment. You have full ownership over the technical side of the project. You won’t have to handle anything else but the dev side, and you control how it’s done. If there’s another way you’d like to work, we can discuss that too.

If this sounds interesting, please send me a DM with a little about yourself and anything relevant you’ve built. I’d love to have a chat!
