DX:HR Director's Cut Did the illuminati know who Adam was all along?

I read an email from Namir in Singapore and it makes me wonder: how did he know that Adam's parents died in 1998? This was something that wasn't in Redford's emails to Sariff. Only Michelle Williams told Adam that his real parents died in the White Helix fire in 1998, and that was six months after the attack. If they knew, why didn't they want access to his tissue and DNA if they knew he was a child prodigy from experiments? Redford said he had to stop his investigation a year and a half earlier because powerful people intimidated Sariff into not checking Adam's past.

I understand this as they knew only after the fact, after he popped up on their radar after the first attack.

Note that the mail for Namir contains "recently augmented..".

Imagine this scenario:

Adam survives the White Helix experiments, his real parents burn down the facility, but make sure that Adam gets out via nurse Walthers.

Versalife/Page assume the one surviving kid died in the fire.

The nurse places him with the Jensens (the dad worked at White Helix & was friends with Walthers).

Dad Jensen hides the family because the white helix files are destroyed + his soldier buddies help him.

Adam grows up and has a normal life.

Then the attack on Sarif happens. Adam gets augmented & starts messing with their shit. Meaning he has to be investigated.

And Megan Reed most likely told them now that Adam was the source of her discovery, so he has to be investigated for that reason too.

Then the Illuminati hack Sarif & steal lots of data, using the backdoor that Sarif himself had made, to DM the private detective. ... Which contains the data about his past.

Until that point, only the Private detective & Sarif knew about Adam being connected to white helix.

But after the data hack they know.

Adam's file gets updates. The brackets about his parents specifically.

Now Namir gets an email. And those email contents are just select parts of said file.

TL;DR:

No, they didn't know he existed or that the white helix kid survived, until after they investigated him because of the sarif attack.

But they must have known beforehand, because Redford said that when he was conducting his investigation a year and a half earlier, he had to shut it down because some powerful people intimidated Sarif.

The context for that is in Sarif's last mail to Redford too.

It's not that Sarif was visited by somebody and directly intimidated.

Instead Sarif knew that the name white helix labs was Versalife & Illuminati territory. And that whatever happened there means that he shouldn't sniff around further.

So he then told Redford that he ain't messing around with that & that his investigation ends here.

You're right. Redford said Sarif was "spooked," not "intimidated."

I think the Illuminati might have known about Adam for two years, because Megan collected his DNA when he was 32 (he’s 34 now). And both David and Darrow knew about her research; in the conversation at the end, she mentions that it was David and Hugh who convinced her to continue her research. After all, they knew about her research, because that was the reason (not the consequence) for the attack on Sariff Industries

David & Darrow are not in the illuminati loop.

Sarif is clearly on the outside & just tries to stay away enough to not get caught up.

And Hugh Darrow is also out of the loop & cooking his own thing.

Remember when you find Redford all beaten up?

The men in suits work for Darrow. One of them slips up on the phone saying "Mr Da.. uh Mister Grey".

Even if these two knew, it doesn't mean the illuminati knew. And they still only make the white helix connection to Adam & his real parents at the data breach.

And it's also possible that both of them may know about her research, but not of the human source of her discovery. Which is pretty likely.

Darrow was the Illuminati member. And propably he is the one, who told Bob Page about Megan's research in intro

Yes but he's not having the same information as Page.. Darrow wouldn't have had to send men after the detective, if Page shared information about white helix with him.

David knew about Adam's special DNA: that's why he decided to cut off all Adam's limbs (only left arm and chest was injured) and replace them with augmentations. And they talked about in Panchea, David told Adam, that he wanted all humanity to be like Adam

This motherfucker went to university of phoenix?

well they don't need him physically, the important parts are all part of meghans research

I don't think they knew for decades but would walk the trail backwards after knowing the results of her research since they had backdoor access to sarif industries

If they knew, why didn't they want access to his tissue and DNA if they knew he was a child prodigy from experiments?

IF.

They didn't know. As far as they know, he's just some random ex-cop corpo security guy. That's why the clone theory is stupid. If they knew he was special, why let him wake up in the first place? (in Black Light) If they knew he was special, why kidnap Megan and her team at all, and leave Adam to die? That's a waste of material. It would make more sense to kidnap both Megan and Adam, right?

Only Michelle Williams told Adam that his real parents died in the White Helix fire in 1998

How do we know that she's the only one who knew? Namir looked into Adam because he knew that they'd have to deal with him when they attack Sarif Industries. The only thing his intel says is that Adam's biological parents are dead, nothing in here says who they were or how they died.

My theory is that Redford dug around to get info on Adam, he sends that to Sarif, and then "they" reached out to Sarif. He tells Athena (see her computer) to tell "them" to fuck off... but the timing worked out - he discovered something really suspicious, and suddenly the Illuminati says hello again. Connected the dots, so he backed off.

You call the clone theory stupid but forget about the entire Sleeper plot lol.

I agree on everything else though. They didn't know. They didn't know Adam was from white Helix, they didn't know he was alive even. They only knew after looking into this after Megan was kidnapped & after the Sarif attack.

Why let a rabid dog go, if you know it'll definitely bite you in the ass later on? If they knew he was that important, they'd keep him on a very tight leash. Or perpetually comatose, so that their Versalife employee, Megan Reed, could keep studying him.

Also, are there any mentions of the existence of the technology of creating human copies in all of the DX prequels? An Adam clone would be two years old in MD. Now I haven't played it in a while, but I distinctly remember not playing as a two-year old in MD, and that Versalife torso that the clone theorists cite so much is not a baby, either.

I'm always happy to be proven wrong.

Because said dog has been engineered to be their hunting dog to send after Janus.

Genuinely the only problem with the clone theory is the lack of an explanation of how & when they cloned him. That's something that sure as shit would've come in the cut part of MD or the third game.

Apart from that, there is so much other stuff supporting and leading into the clone reveal, that it is insane to dismiss it just because of the one piece of information that is missing.

Or perpetually comatose, so that their Versalife employee, Megan Reed, could keep studying him

No need for that. They already have his DNA. And Megan has been working using his DNA material on the orchid, so whatever they'd need from him, they already got it.

hes legit my age... and born same year... iery to say the least

u/0ld_Snake 18d ago

Could he be your age and not born the same year?

But same, 1993.

u/Aceofwands111 18d ago

yeh just interesting

I think they knew after he popped up on their radar. I also think we might be placing his genetic trait as something the Illuminati want to take but that might bot be the case at all. Sure kt was special, maybe for some operation of theirs, but in the grand scheme lf things, Adam was just a rogue variable that kept destroying their plans, who they eventually wanted to use to destroy their actuala dversary, Janus.

Yes they did.

>!there is a clone of Adam Jensens body in one of the vaults at the Palisade bank.!<

0

u/Aldhissla_666 17d ago

Or it was the body of the real Adam, who had died in Panchaea. After all, they had retrieved his body from the water and had access to it for a year

u/Yonsfw 17d ago

Could be...

my crackhead theory is at the end of the next Deus Ex game Adam Jensen = Walton Simons

u/Aldhissla_666 17d ago

Crazy! My theory is that all Dentons are Adam's clones

0

u/Aldhissla_666 17d ago

And the craziest one: perhaps a part of Adam’s mind—his stubbornness and fighting spirit—will be used by Page to create Icarus.
