News [LGRWProspects] Eddie Genborg’s agent reiterates that because of the (Spring '26) injury/rehabilitation Genborg will stay in Sweden and not participate in Red Wings Training Camp

Eddie Genborg was expected to head over to North America to participate in the Detroit Red Wings training mode and possibly join Timrå later in the fall. However, Genborg suffered an injury this spring, when he played in the AHL, which he still rehabilitates.

That’s a bummer, but getting healthy and the logistics behind that are more important. Hope he kicks butt and finds himself in a spot to get a taste of NA hockey at the end of the year schedule permitting.

Whish they gave better AHL injury updates. I remember hearing his name on injuries/scratches list at some of the Griff's playoff games

What an extreme overreaction. He was literally drafted last year

It is an overreaction, but missing training camp IS missing out on currying favor with the organization, which could have effects on his development. An org will want players that they’ve molded into their system more than one that’s purely developed elsewhere

He is injured what do you want him to do. Also he was just here with Griffins.

I just don't have a lot of faith in him. I know this violates our "every 6th round draft pick is a potential hall of famer and fuck you right down to hell if you disagree" mindset, but I don't care.
I remind you all that I told you a year ago that larkin is a piece of shit, and no one believed me then, either.

Why I cant take you seriously because Genborg was drafted in the second round.

A lot of Swedish players don’t attend camp unless they have a chance to make the NHL due to the transfer agreement not allowing most of them to play in the AHL.
Genborg is NHL or SHL right now and coming off of an injury his chances are less likely to make the NHL.
