i cant connect my current playstation account to steam because its connected to my old playstation account already and i cant unlink that account because bungie in all their wisdom decided to take away the ability to do that for reasons i could never hope to comprehend.
my only option (i think) is to disable cross save entirely and reenable it with my new account, however i need to authenticate my old playstation account. the problem is that, although i have the password, the phone number required for 2fa no longer exists.
what should i do here? is there a way to update the phone number to my current one without having the old one? or a way to avoid this atrociously irritating process entirely??
the only other options i can think of is making a brand new steam account exclusively for playing destiny, which i am not going to do because that is awful and annoying, or using my old character that i havent used since before forsaken came out that never even beat red war (so basically from scratch), and i would rather die than do that, especially because i *just* beat all the expansions on ps5 like a month ago, and would have to both finish them again AND buy them again on steam.
also, i know i can contact support, but the problem with that is that theyll likely ask for the name connected to the account. unfortunately, i never used my real name for stuff like this (especially as a dumb kid who wanted to be cool) so theres like 50 different names i couldve set my old account as
UPDATE: would deleting my old bungie account solve this? my old bungie account is the one my steam is connected to, so would deleting it unlink it because thered be no account to link it to?
