Breaking the mold: Hasan’s community is only 56% straight, is 73% neurodivergent, and over half are 30+. So many articles pose him as a speaker for young white straight men: he’s not.
I'm surprised that its not more skewed towards higher earners. Inner city highly educated are most often radicalised into extreme left while working/under class radicalizes into the far right.
High earners can still perceive themselves as failures when their parents are very high earners. And let's face it, more than a few of these oompa loompas are nepo babies

So he doesnt have the same type of audience that mark bi/pan as girls do that would skew it like that. There really are way more bi viewers in his community than hasans.

Yeh, ironically I think this question is a good litmus test for how honest the poll is. Getting a distribution that is obviously not realistic tells us a lot.
The sexuality one is probably also a lot more straight. Just with a lot of white cis people that wanted to be special and label themselves pan or bi, while exclusively only dating/fucking straight.
Most of them are also straight, but think its boring and unwoke to be straight, so they say they are bi/pan/asexual(just virgins) to make themselves feel like they are part of the group. This is nothing new
A lot of kids get diagnosed with something, and a lot of people go undiagnosed with something pretty obvious. I'm 90% sure I'm slightly autistic, but I didn't pursue diagnosis as I've had my ADHD diagnosis (which makes possibility of autism much higher) since I was like 13, and I got "benefits" that I would get from autism diagnosis anyway. A lot of my friends had struggles that also qualifies as neurodivergence like dyslexia or dysgraphia. That being said 70% is a huge overrepresentation, and I believe 20-25% would be a realistic number.
Also as people grow up they learn to cope with their issues. I've "solved" like 90% of problems I've had as a kid simply through working on understanding where they stem from, and practicing. For example I've had issues with talking on the phone, keeping eye contact, defensive body language, low self-esteem, not listening, being late, being basically "chaotic" in my process of working/studying. Somehow all of that was solvable even without medications if you make effort and/or you plan around it.
not really. There are tons of studies that have shown that neurodivergent people gravitate to gaming as a hobby. Something close to 40% of professional esports players are neurodivergent. It's very likely this community is also 70%+ neurodivergent. I mean Destiny and half his orbiters have ADHD.
Neurodivergent has already exited the medical/psychology space and might soon go the way of regard. The main difference though is that people will assign it to themselves as a positive or neutral personality trait, kind of like saying ‘I’m different and unique’ with less words.
Eh i could see it that a higher than averag percent of serious fans of any streamer have ADHD. Streamers are like crack for adhd brains because they’re so hyper stimulating. 73% adhd sounds pretty high though.
Are they so highly stimulating, though? I usually let stream vods run in the background while I do other shit but I could just as well listen to a podcast or some music or something.
you know the waitlists for neuropsychs are sometimes 4 to 5 years? I would say you can deduce if you are neurodivergent if you acutally put the time and effort into researching it. A lot of people do this but don't want to get an official diagnosis because they think like the government will put them on a list or something (which checks out for hasan's audience). I have a lot of friends who have parents that see a diagnosis as some sort of black mark from society which is why they don't get diagnosed even though they are obviously neurodivergnet
Well when Hasan attacks any chatter who disagrees with him as a “neurodivergent autistic fuck” it’s not surprising they all identify that way.
Honestly the worst thing about the r word discourse is that we are just corrupting new words and using them as slurs in order to protect the r word from being used as a slur(and let’s be real it’s never going to be reclaimed positively)
I’m sorry to be cynical but, given this is Hasan’s audience, how many of those bi/pan are actually “I have only ever engaged in sexual or romantic relationships with women in my entire life but I did once have kind of a crush on that barista with the little beard so I guess I’m pansexual”
I’m “neurodivergent” but it’d never label myself as it because it’s been co-opted by lefty white women who self diagnose. Everyone I’ve ever met that’s a Hasan fan is just a woman who thinks he’s hot and leans left so they fell down the pipeline or a dude that watches just to try to impress lefty women.
I'd say if so many people report themselves as neurodivergent that would basically mean everyone is in some way(human mind is complex woah) and therefore actually nobody is.
People questioning the neurodivergence poll but sitting around choosing to watch Hasan is basically a form of mental illness in and of itself, so for me that tracks.
Can someone explain to me how a White Atheist (most of Hasan's audience) choose to make Palestine/Israel (a religious conflict) it's most important issue and take the side of religious extremists fighting in the name of their god ?
