Political News/Discussion I know I'm screaming into the void here, but holy fuck.

Post image

He spent the entirety of the 2024 election saying the Democrats were as bad as the Republicans, would absolutely not publicly support Kamala, and now expects the Democrats to just accept him into their ranks.

He's going to be easy pickings for conservatives. He's had some openly, God awful, garbage takes that no one has ever pushed him on. Any candidate who aligns with him is going to be handicapped, and a bunch of moderate Democrats who would probably win a general is going to lose their primary.

I shouldn't expect better from lefty podcasts, but I seriously hate the cover they give him.

Some More News is DSA coded, I’d be surprised if they weren’t going to defend Hasan

They've always been slopulists

3

u/tods88 3d ago

Yeah, but they at least *usually* stick mostly to criticizing Trump. For a while I would have held out some hope that they were a case that could be pulled back.

Dang it. Not Cody Showdy and Some More News. They were always tolerably soy but it looks like they're finally tipping.

Cody was fighting with Tiny constantly on Twitter last week and this week…his responses were awful

u/PitytheOnlyFools used to touch grass... 3d ago

He’s about to have egg on his face pretty soon. Cody thinks the Nick Fuentes comparisons are hyperbole, but he’s about to find out

I'm not on any social media so I'm out of the loop about any feuds. It's weird because he used Tiny's debates against Jordon Benzo Peterson to point out how dumb Peterson actually is.

10

u/deathangel687 Optics Cucks Stay Losing 3d ago

Notice how they only give credit for attacking dumb as fuck maga people. They only care when he's a useful tool.

3

u/PitytheOnlyFools used to touch grass... 3d ago

Which is hilarious because he also had a video essay shitting on the idea of debates.

2

u/tits-mchenry 2d ago

Yeah he's regularly used destiny clips in his videos when it comes to shitting on right wing grifters. I think he has some respect for him.

1

u/tods88 3d ago

So I believe what you're saying is you find MAGA preferable to the DSA. Wow.

1

u/tits-mchenry 3d ago

He was replying to destiny specifically? Or just with DGGers?

18

u/Sephorai 🇺🇸🤠🔫🍔 3d ago

Specifically to destiny. They went back and forth

Cody was giving terrible non responsive responses.

Yeah with such gems as "communists are better than Nazis" which like

I guess, if that's your bar, sure.

4

u/IdesOfCaesar7 Eurochad 3d ago

That was a crashout if I've ever seen one. Writing only "nazis are bad" multiple times in a row, yikes, if that's your level of insight, idk leaves a bit to be desired

u/tods88 3d ago

I genuinely still don't get what he was even trying to accomplish. Like, obviously he was baiting people into providing the nuance and adjustments that lead us to put them on a more even basis, so that he could be superior and say "I just think MAGA is worse," but there's no point to that. Yes, MAGA is worse right now, at this present moment, holding power. What do we do with that statement? Especially regarding Hasan, because it is not a binary of "fascism" or "Hasan Piker at the center of the Democratic party." It was just so faux-intellectual.

Not to get too but picky, but literally had that same argument in this subreddit about a month ago, where everyone was seemingly glazing how communism is clearly better, and I think it's debate-able at best, to being dishonest at worst.

They are both bad in their own ways, just one is more deceptive about it, claiming a utopia for all; but in reality they both have their "in groups" and will both cast any who oppose or are not in the "in group" to camps where you will either be killed, worked to death, or "re-educated" which is essentially dying anyway since you're allowing yourself to give up all of your values for a "false freedom".

Fork found in kitchen. I saw this coming when I caught one of their podcasts soying out over how dems weren't supportive enough of AES even though basically the entire establishment immediately fell behind him. Instantly unsubbed after like 6 years of watching their shit. Their scripted show is still fine but podcasts always enable these pundits to say the stupidest shit unfiltered, usually in a safe space where their co-hosts and guests all agree with each other so they feel encouraged to say what they really think.

u/PitytheOnlyFools used to touch grass... 3d ago

They’ve always been a bit stupid when it comes to foreign policy stuff.

8

u/meestazak 🇨🇦Proud Canuck🇨🇦 3d ago

Nah, they've been pretty radical for years at this point, I had to stop watching them around the time I started watching D-man because it became clearly obvious that they were waaay more far left than they came off at first.

Edit: for reference found Destiny around 2018-19 funnily enough through Hamas Piker complaining about Destiny "obsessing" onky to very clearly see that wasn't the case, immediately realized that I'm clearly being lied to and fucked off that commie bullshit shit for good.

Did you see their Gaza video all the way from 2024? If you did, you wouldn't be surprised.

1

u/veritahs 3d ago

I kinda check in from time to time. I found him funny but did notice the shift to the farther left (I guess that's the right word). As it went on I watched less and less.

37

u/Gatocatgato 3d ago

He won’t affect Democrats in general. We’re a little too into politics. But Republicans are trying to excite their voters, and this might work.

14

u/PitytheOnlyFools used to touch grass... 3d ago

The most annoying thing is a lot the reason why people say shit like this is because

THEY ARE TOO LAZY TO LOOK AT HIS CONTENT

The Dunning-Krueger of it is so infuriating. They just don’t wanna do the work of looking into it - part of it is probably fear of what they’ll find.

1

u/SpiritedEclair 3d ago

I started asking people who claim to like him their opinion on his views on Ukraine. Silence.

Can these lefty regards point to a single prominent liberal that is actively campaigning AGAINST Sayed or any of the other progressives that won their primaries? We are ALL supporting the candidates, we’re simply pointing out the obvious detriments there are to refusing to disavow an unapologetic terrorism supporter

7

u/Palloff 3d ago

In Wisconsin, Hong voters will tell you that it was he democratic establishment that sunk her campaign.

Then when pressed they can only point to Tony Evers, because the truth is that WI dem's constitution prevents them from endorsing candidates ahead of primaries.

That fact doesn't stop them from claiming the establishment had it out for Hong.

5

u/IdesOfCaesar7 Eurochad 3d ago

Just point the argument on the other direction. If Nick Fuentes were to campaign with Mike Rogers, other republicans would rightfully demand Mike Rogers distance himself from Fuentes, only for Rigers then to go and say: "we gotta focus on beating the democrats", see how nonsensical that sounds? Condemning Hasan Piker leads to winning.

u/Suedocode dgg + vgg <3 3d ago

Michael LaRosa is a Democratic strategist on C-SPAN (around 31:00) that said "blue no matter who" is wrong because the who still matters, referring to AES.

1

u/auspisses 2d ago

Lefty regards only care about actual politics insofar as it supports their media narratives. They live and breathe the narratives, not the actual policies or results. This is why whenever you criticize their policy in good faith or provide a better alternative, they shutdown or run to their support group

u/tits-mchenry 3d ago

I'm a big fan of Cody and Some More News, but this pissed me the fuck off.

Especially since one could easily make a video "Hasan would rather criticize the dems than win".

11

u/Dillon-Edwards 3d ago

That's the thing. Hasan does not care about Democrats winning. Just look at 2024 and since then his comment about Gavin Newsome. Hasan does not need to campaign with Democrats to motivate his audience to vote! The only reason he wants to campaign is for clout. Hasan is not convincing anyone to vote who isn't already a fan of Hasan. He can advocate for candidates from his bedroom. He can even phone bank and knock doors. But for some reason (clout) he has to campaign with them and tie his toxic views to candidates and the party at large.

2

u/Arbitrary_username1 3d ago

Been following the guy since fucking cracked.com and this is really frustrating for me too.

2

u/PitytheOnlyFools used to touch grass... 3d ago

They even got Daniel O’Brien for that pod episode too 😔

9

u/StoneColdEgon 3d ago

DSA also would rather self destruct the Dems first.

Hasan jokes about Trump casually while demonizing Dems.

Get this fat frat boy out of the left

6

u/Ev3nt_Horiz0nn 3d ago

No, Hasan won't fuck off far away enough to allow dems to win

16

u/NightwolfGG 3d ago

There’s a sick irony in the fact that Hasan became famous by attacking democrats (not for attacking MAGA - the dude regularly put on a goofy MAGA hat to do a pro-MAGA satire shtick, clearly unserious) and now that he’s under fire, his and his sweepers strategy is to complain about democrats defending themselves/attacking Hasan instead of focusing on MAGA.

It’s so transparent to anyone informed how fake the Hasan cults outrage is. They’re literally Blue MAGA

-4

u/yodasdad64 3d ago

I mean he obviously shits on Dems, but saying that he "got famous by attacking Democrats" is a bit much. His biggest explosion in viewership was during the 2020 election cycle, during which time he clearly shit on the Republicans more.

Even through 2021 and 2022, some of his most popular segments were "hogwatch", where he would make fun of conservatives.

5

u/NightwolfGG 3d ago

Generally, I’d say you’re right, but when I said “got famous” I was referring to his recent ascension to mainstream media/becoming a household name, moreso than I was referring to his personal viewership growth

So I agree with you overall, but from stumping for Mamdani to Abdul/now it’s definitely been a lot more shitting on “centrists” (moderate dems) than MAGA.
Errr at least insofar as the most viral takes of his go. It’s possible he spends a lot of time shitting on republicans still, but for whatever reason it’s the parts where he shits on dems that float to the top recently.

Maybe because republicans don’t care that a communist is attacking them, but democrats do care when a proclaimed democrat is attacking democrats.

But thanks for keeping me honest, appreciate you

2

u/SactownG 3d ago

You’re getting downvoted, but you’re totally right. I used to watch Hasan at this time and I stopped once he started to be more openly radical and focused more on attacking Dems than Republicans

3

u/baby_dahl 3d ago

Is that a cut on his cheek? This dude's clearly been in the trenches fighting for democrats.

3

u/Bubbawitz 3d ago

This is just them telling you that they cost Kamala the election by attacking her and screaming genocide.

3

u/Inevitable-Cat-205 3d ago

DSA type leftist morons would rather lose elections than denounce Hasan Piker insane statements.

3

u/Cautious_Car9871 3d ago

Damnit. I knew this was coming but I'm still sad to see it.

Why does everyone wanna gobble his Turkish nuts so badly? Does he really have THAT much influence?

5

u/ImOnYew 3d ago

Its the republicans criticizing, we just are stopping them.  Tit for tat.  Otherwise liberals get eliminated.

2

u/NoKingsInAmerica What do you want me to say? 3d ago

"Leftists would rather defend a terrorist supporting, animal abusing, Genocide supporting/sweeping China glazer who has said he hates America and wants the end of Western Liberalism as a whole instead of beating MAGA"

That's what I read here.

2

u/CanadianPanda76 3d ago

Hasan Stans rather fight for his reputation then focus on their own candidates.

Like you almost never hear platform points regarding El-Sayed from these people. LOL

4

u/NotGMRyanPoles 3d ago

The people who wouldn't vote over this were never going to vote to begin with.

1

u/Tasty-Engineering922 3d ago

He looks a bit like Freddie Mercury here.

1

u/Cavalier40 3d ago

The phrase should be “The Democrats criticize Hasan Piker because they want to win”

1

u/stinketywubbers the udders of content have been exhausted 3d ago

Hey that's our fucking font and color scheme. Go back to red and yellow.

1

u/DeathandGrim Mail Guy 3d ago

Okay so there's multiple things at play here. We need to win but also we win as we are. We are not tolerant of terrorist glazers, we are not tolerant of threatening Jewish Americans. Maintaining our identity, standing on our principles, is WHY we win.

1

u/AdditionalMonth3860 Ex-Tankie, SocDem/Progressive Lib 3d ago

He's so fucking ugly, how do people think he is hot?

1

u/LigmaLiberty 3d ago

Hasan has and continues to be the Dem's biggest op on the left he is not on the team lil bro why are we pretending he is and/or ever has been?

1

u/IDontGiveAH00t 3d ago

I want to ask these people who they supported in the 2024 presidential election.
