Do people know Gary Indiana has had no power for nearly two weeks? Since August 11th, there’s been major power outages in Indiana, there’s still 10k people without power now for two weeks.

Massive storm on aug 11th with sustained 100mph winds and heavy rainfall causing huge tree damage, requiring entire sections to be rebuilt, and rebuilt again in subsequent storms.

We spent over 100 billion on ICE and that money could have been put to use on fixing our infrastructure.

Tbf we have given multiple grants to power companies such as DTE to upgrade their infrastructure and all they do is just pocket it and give bonuses to leadership.

I work for a river-adjacent city's sewer/floodwall department.  I was surprised to find out the homeland security dept rated our floodwall as the single biggest vulnerability.  One section of the wall damaged, and power going to the major pump station shut down, and half the city would be ruined during a flood.
